Nope, your not crazy at all. Just wanted to let people know that these kinds of things have happened and there is video proof. I completely respect that point of view of not wanting to watch atrocious things. I was wondering this, too. What's happening now is the very people the occupiers are protesting against are co-opting the movement, saying they support it, even rallying with them.

I personally believe there is a "hidden hand" involved and they have been waiting for this event to occur. Hell, numerous members of this very board were around during the Egypt protests and the London Riots, some of us wondering how long it would take before it hit the US. Well, here it is, and if WE knew about it, you can bet your ass the "powers that be" were waiting for it, and probably have their greasy paws all up in it, guiding it ever slightly to coincide with their agenda, which I believe will be in the form of more surveillance.

Man, there was this huge spider crawling across my floor and I was gonna be nice and try to take it outside, but it had to pull a fast one and hide a little to close to my bed. Now it must be destroyed.

Libya is fucking destroyed by NATO, no back-up, no support. Al-Kaeda rebels running everywhere, implemting their own law and power. At least, at the very fucking least, we had ground troops in Iraq. NATO has doomed Libya to hell.

I think it was already on it's way there itself to be fair. As to spending their money wisely, Libya should have been a wealthy country. Should is a big word though.

Libya was the wealthiest country in Africa! As for sharia law being implemented, rebels refusing to give up their arms further fracturing the country and womens right's going out the window, I think this is a pretty good indicator of where the future of this country is heading.

Oh I agree entirely. 95% of the wealth held by 5% of the populous and all that.
I just find it strange that he's being held up by some as a visionary? Seems to me he promised much yet delivered little other than brutality and squandered wealth.

From funding the IRA and PLO, to the sham of 'democracy' via the meaningless Revolutionary Councils while running the country as his own private fiefdom via a rampant police state, tortured confessions (look up the case of the Bulgarian nurses arrested for allegedly infecting Libyan children with HIV and read all about Saif Islam Gadaffi's admission that (a) the confessions were induced via torture and (b) the children were infected before the nurses arrived in the country). It seems to me that Gadaffi's biggest trick was conning people that he was a buffoon.

I'm not some blinked right-wing neo-con who believes everything that the media and (especially) our respective governments spoon feed us. Far from it. Frankly, quite the opposite if anything. I don't trust any of the bastards. However, I equally don't think you can simply go to the other extreme and fill in the blanks with any old horseshit peddled by conspiracy theorists and internet nut jobs. The Illuminati might well be out there. But I don't think it was them pulling the finger nails out of people secretly opposing the Gaddafi regime, hunting down Libyan ex-pats who spoke out in the 80's, closing shops as some anti-bourgeoisie statement, burning 'dangerous' books, closing every cinema in Libya in case they harboured secret anti-government meetings, putting bombs on passenger planes, putting bullets in the AK47's of the IRA, or (as Amnesty International recently reported) apparently raping child prisoners.

I know our governments aren't to be trusted. I live in a country run by right-of-centre public schoolboys who would sooner see me and my family out of my home and out of a job than make a bank take a write-down on the debts they've landed us all in. A government that not 25 years ago played merry hell with it's own people by effectively shafting whole communities anywhere North of Watford. A government that - like so many others - will happily send our young men and women off to shoot people if there's some oil at stake, but rarely lifts a finger against the likes of Syria, North Korea, etc.

And - yes - I've no doubt that there are a string of Western oil companies queuing up to get their greasy paws on all that lovely Libyan black gold. I do see the link. I just don't think you can ignore that while Gadaffi may have came to power as a revolutionary, he failed to be anything other than a despot, a dictator and a thug. He is little better, if at all, than Idi Amin or Omar Bongo.

Here's the thing, it isn't just our bad guys who are the bad guys. The other guys have them too.
