For example...Music can take you everywhere. When I listened IABOITC while meditating I could swear I really
was standing in this beautifull forest opening. One big tree with a swing, sitting, thinking of nothing, relaxing.

I can really recommend meditating to EVERYONE.But you must accept it...
Hey Cupz, I've always wanted to try meditation, yet I know very little about it. I've tried to read up on it from various sources online but I don't get much out of it. Mostly, they're trying to sell you shit and trying to get you to go to seminars and whatnot. I've heard that there are mantras involves that you get assigned to you, but does that even matter? Know where I can find some good info without spending any money? I believe spiritual freedom should be a free thing. Heh.

Hey Mech,

Look up Shambhala. Shambhala is meditation. Simply sitting and following your breath. Shambhala is one form of meditation, it leads to other forms of meditation of more inward exploration, but without being able to sit and let the mind go and sit focusing on the breath the other forms are very hard to obtain. There are some great books written by Trunkpa Rimpoche on meditation. There are Shambhala centers in most major cities where you can go and learn meditation for FREE. www.shambhala.org

dont have time to read all this thread right now but,

last night i dreamt i was in a car, at the front passenger side and in the backseat mike and marcus were with me (i dont know who was driving)

we were like driving up the mountain side of a really snowy place.. very trans canada highway

so i turned around and wanted to gush to them of course..and i was like "so uh.. you guys have been makin music over 15 years eh".. and they just kind of started reading huge newspapers ignoring me..
and i held up this giant inflatable red crayon.. and made it turn sky blu like the surroundings, kind of boccish.. and i was like "pretty cool huh" and they were just like "yeah..."

I once had a dream that I had a long conversation with DJ Shadow.

Of course he's not in BOC. But he should be. Or maybe not.

Sick......

I didn't have sex with DJ Shadow. Which was good, because I don't think either of us would have been very down with that.

This is a great thread to make my first post because dreams are more important than anything to me. Dreams and nostalgy... I think you could say I don't really live in this world at all.

The only BoC related dream was one where I was walking on a small grassfield (I know the place IRL) with my cordless headphones playing a very beautiful mixture of On a Rolling Sea and Orange Romeda and maybe some other songs too. Then I noticed an old, maybe WWI aeroplane flying low in the sky above me and took the headphones off. The music didn't stop, it was the aeroplane's sound. It then started bombing me and I woke up.

It's cool to hear everyone's takes on dreams. I suffer from sleep paralysis every now and then and it usually leads into a lucid dream.

My first lucid dream was when I was like 13 or so and I couldn't believe the realism my meager brain could render. The first thing I thought once I realized I was dreaming was, "my god, if technology harnesses this, we'll all just live in our heads as entertainment." Crazy realism.

My latest lucid dream took place at Canon Beach oregon. I ended up flying around Haystack Rock (a HUGE rock formation 232 feet high) in wide arcs, looking at all the textures and stunned people on the beach. Then I realized I needed a soundtrack. Conjured up ABPOITC and just flew around.

Like the website though, there were elements on the beach that produced individual tracks . A seashell over did the children laughing, some area on the beach produced the drums, another area did the vocorder voice... etc. If I flew straight up over the rock you could hear it all and if I went too far up the music got muddled.
So far it's the best I've had.

How do you guys get lucid??

I do my reality checks every hour (I'm still looking for a watch that beeps every hour)
I also like to wake up 3 hours early, staying awake an hour, than fall asleep again.

BUT...how do you do it?
