I figured they would have been making tapes for people still at this point, not CDs.....

Well OP, if your friendly enough with them to get a cd specifically for you, maybe you can shed some light on a upcoming release?

That CD doesn't belong to the OP; it belongs to one of the guys of DJ Food. The photos are from the "Artifacts" section of the DJ Food site. See the link that the OP put above the photos.

GREAT COVER. what is that bird on the front? I've been looking at pictures of raptors trying to figure out what it is. the beak is so small!

I'll hazard a guess but I think it's probably a Besra Sparrow Hawk, albeit a bit of a shabby one. Tricky to tell with the washed out colour but it looks pretty close.
