I attempted to remix davie addison.
Ok you guys got all these little remix boc songs games going so I wanted to try. But i remembered i have never remixed something before and i have no idea how. So instead i just re-created the song note by note and right now its pretty terrible. This are just make shift beats that actually wont be used with my final mix...so screw those ok. Also you'll notice i totally left out the part of the song where it goes all high, like an octave higher than the normal melody...im still getting to that. this is a super rough early early draft. I'm just gonna post it so you guys can tell me what to immediatly get rid of.

Thanks dublin, I hope to have it's new changes slapped in there soon. Plus...the missing high part at the end is needed. It is just a bitch adding every note by ear and punching it in randomly...figuring it out on a oxygen 8 controller isn't fun either...i need a bigger controller. Anyway, I'm gonna swallow a handful of mushrooms and go for a 4 hour bike ride. HOpefully when i get back i can finish this up...add new less abrasive beats and a few other treats. Thanks bro, later.

Nice (as mentioned in the other thread). Pretty relaxing. Like the subdued synth sound.
I take back what I had said about drums hard panned. I think they're probably a bit too loud (the drum track that is panned hard right) and should be pushed back a bit, or used more as an "accent", perhaps with something compimenting them on the left side of the stereo field (backwards stuff!).
Anyway, sounds really good. Hooray for Oxygen 8's. For Davie, you probably don't need much more than an O8.
What did you use to make it?

BoCForBreakfast- This is an awesome version! I really want to hear the finished works! I love the strange approach with the tick tick beats. So far everytime i hear a fan remix of boards of canada they just seem to emulate that same lo-fi tape hiss down tempo drum. It's nice to hear something that kind of throws you off. Keep on it.

I have a really basic setup...no money for fancy pants equipment. I use Acid pro 5.0, native instruments pro-53/absynth. For sequencing i use ableton live and reason. Although I'm still very new to ableton.wwbjd wrote:Nice (as mentioned in the other thread). Pretty relaxing. Like the subdued synth sound.
