Peter Serafinowicz just said on his new BBC6 radio show that Boards of Canada's new album is coming soon and MIGHT BE A DOUBLE CD and then played Peacock Tail!!!

AARGH! I was on the phone to my girlfriend when he started talking about BoC!!! That is very exciting news. Brilliant radio show btw; fantastic taste in music, Mr Serafinowicz.

I don't live in England and I don't know this guy, but does this guy have sources or is he just thinking this will be the case? This is good news but still, it isn't official, basically, this is nothing.

There is no way of confirming this without input from the band/Warp themselves but he is a friend of the band and a huge fan.

i know he's a fan of the band and all and has mentioned them as an inspiration for the music on 'Look around you'(which is a fantastic show).
Not being funny, but did he not mention something like this before.... like, donkeys ago? I may be mistaken but it sounds familiar. I seem to recall someone like him saying this years ago. Surely mdg, the band themselves or warp would be very first to impart this knowledge.

Reminds me aswell, watching that Alan Partridge episode during teh week withex in it ..haha

Well, it was not an official announcement, he just mentioned during his first show on the station this morning and then played a song.

I know there will be a load more posts refuting this but personally I am very happy he said this because he is a genuine fan and BBC being what it is I am sure he would not have said this lightly.

True. Well, I do hope he has some insider info. A double LP would be great.. an epic prog opus haha. Would explain all the time away tinkering. I would have no qualms about shelling out an extra few pounds for a double..not at all. A nice huge fold out artwork sleeve like all those dodgy 70's double records would be fantastic also

So why can't I see BoC - Peacock Tail in the show tracklisting? As far as I'm concerned your trolling unless you can give an explanation.

I have no idea why it is no in the listing. But search twitter for Boards of Canada and you will see other people commenting on what he said. @serafinowicz

I have no desire to troll anyone, just excited by what I heard on UK national radio this morning!

He did indeed, two years ago in the Times Playlist. I remember reading it myself on the Times website but that doesn't really exist anymore unless you pay for it. The only place I can find reference to it is on this forum (and the original post it is quoting has been deleted for some reason):

They're rumoured to be releasing a double album. I'm more excited about it than anything I can think of. Unless I have another child. I might be more excited about that.

I'm not sure if Pete has some sort of insider information, or he's just living in hope like every other BoC fan.

But in there he says it's a rumour. In the show he actually says that a new album is coming soon, and that it might be a double album.
