Announcement of a new album soon.
"Peacock Tail"
Boards of Canada Love
Missy Elliott.

I feel like I need to start listening to the shows this guy puts on. This is awesome news and I literally just died at the mention of double music. Wowowowowowowowowow...I hope it's true.

I KNEW IT.

Well, a healthy sense of cynicism warns me not to get too excited - but if it does happen, I will be one happy humanoid. Knock on wood, everybody!

The chap is a comedian and a broadcaster. So I am taking this with a pinch of salt.[/i]

Comedians are different than trolls though. But, yes, I will agree with you. It's always best to take things not heard from labels or officials with a bit of skepticism.

I don't know if the Serafinowicz mention got BoC trending on twitter, but the spambots were getting in on the act. I did a search for Boards of Canada and came across a flurry of weird tweets, including these:

@sopywahih: shyla bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's provincial.

@tifudytuv: alexander bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's consoling.

@bazohawowik: else bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's disalike.

@nazuhac: bennie bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's psychopathic.

@xijosybeqoh: barry bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's enfeebled.

@tokuxysa: genaro bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's accelerated.

@qyjehona: evan bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's perilous.

r@iqaxahapo: kermit bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's lousy.

@hyveliwo: susie bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's outnumbered.

@likahobejy: boyce bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's plucky

@kuvyburyhygyn: alvin bought me CD Boards of Canada, I think it's frowned upon.

Plenty more out there too. Nice to see Kermit trying to spread the word!

If Peter is a serious BoC fan (as he suggests), then I am sure he knows how it has been waiting for a new release since 2006. I think he would understand that saying something like "they've got a new album coming out soon" is not to be taken lightly.

He did not say, "I have heard rumors that they've got a new album coming out soon" or "I hope they've got a new album coming out soon" or "they might have a new album coming out soon." He stated in a completely matter-of-fact way, "they've got a new album coming out soon."

I have no idea what source of information he is basing this statement on, but if what he said is just rumor or speculation, then shame on him.

Well, I gotta say, it sounds rather legit, but, we are gonna have to wait and see what happens. I'm certainly excited by this, though! :D
By the way, Peacock Tail is one of my all time BoC faves. :)
Die hard BOC fan since 1998!

Definitely good to hear, but I really think he's just a BoC fan who is stating the fact that at some point in the future they are releasing an album, potentially double album.

I'll have to look up what time this is EST. Aside from the potential BoC intel, does he usually have a good show?

I listened from about 10:15 until about 15 mins ago. Nothing BOC related but I've had to switch off now. Will check iPlayer later.

Can't believe I missed this...I usually listen to Adam & Joe sometimes. Anyway I'm a huge Peter S fan and loved his own comedy show which the BBC pulled  great characters...have the DVDs

Look Around You is legendary...the Bournemouth gag was about the computer named Bournemouth that ran away with the Petticoat 5 to Bournemouth in Look Around You 2 - voiced by David Walliams

Oh I forgot - I'm very excitied about the new album news! 8)
