I'm a sysadmin, worked for a decade on ERP Systems integration (Siebel, Clarify etc.) and had a fairly fun time of it. Then spent 18 months doing release management (it was either that or the boot, hated it) and for the lst three months have been involved in monitoring/capacity planning which is more technical again in essence, love it so far.

Proof that no matter what you study it's best to listen to your heart.

I've been working for the last year as a painter, it's pretty nice. My grandfather taught my father and so on; I've been around it for years and painted full time before for about 5 years all together... There are much, much worse jobs out there. I like the idea of perfecting a craft/trade. Just starting to learn the art of spraying paint with a commercial sprayer.
