I'm not a fan, but I could think of a lot worse to listen to, and what I have heard is quite alright - so I would say I'm neutral or indifferent, depending on how you look at it.
Recording artists are there to make music and their image shouldn't have to play a significant role. It's good to see someone like Adele have such success, where you can safely say it was very much to do with the music. Even on stage and in interviews, she doesn't seem to be anything other than just herself and that can only be good - I do wonder if it's becoming increasingly rare, though.
There is no need to manufacture an image with all that entails - if you want to be forced by your company to stay within a certain marketed image or character in public, you're probably better off working as a wrestler for the WWE.

I honestly don't hear much difference between Adele and any other random female singer that has been popular the past few years. It's all the same dull sentiments and easy to digest chord progressions to me. But I guess I just have a very untrained ear to differentiate between the various flavors of pop music.
