Burial - Kindred [EP]
Hyperdub boss Kode9 has announced via his Twitter feed a new EP from the South London producer, entitled Kindred:
“HDB059 Burial – Kindred EP. Join Hyperdub mailing list for news. Vinyl/digital and def less than 25quid”
There hasn’t been anything about this sent to the Hyperdub mailing list as yet, but we’ll update you as soon as there is. Kindred will be Burial’s first original solo material to see the light of day since the Street Halo EP, released back in March of this year. In the interim he remixed Massive Attack for a limited edition 12″ release, and collaborated with Four Tet and Thom Yorke on a 12″, ‘Ego’/'Mirror’ for the former’s Text label.

Yea, I think labels are missing a trick here... I think Ninja Tune and Warp do this via Bleep but it does seem crazy to have to pay for music twice. On the plus side the download is only £2.50 which isn't bad for a 30min EP.machinea wrote:Just got the 180g vinyl.. very disappointed though that there is no mp3 download with the purchase. As I don't have a turntable at the moment. Still it seems pretty standard these days to have a download code included with a physical purchase. This kinda blows.
Yeah both Bibio and Tycho had downloads included in the purchase of the vinyl which I really appreciated. In most cases its not easy to rip the vinyl and then listen to it in the car etc.
But considering how many people don't pay for any music at all.. I really feel that the purchase of physical media such as vinyl really ought to include a download link as well. I was just surprised that it wasn't included.
