I need pointers on Sonic Youth

Yo, where's a good point to begin with Sonic Youth as a curious album-buying listener? I only have a .zip of Sister and it's confusing but really growing on me. thanks!

personally, my trip was Daydream Nation -> Washing Machine -> Rather Ripped (I didn't like this one) -> Sonic Nurse ->A Thousand Leaves -> the SYR series -> basically everything else. I really enjoy Sonic Nurse, A Thousand Leaves and EVOL.

nahhh nothing beats listening to "In the Kingdom #19" at full volume while driving through sheets of rain through hilly rural areas you're not familiar with

I can firmly recommend the Lee Ranaldo album - Between the Times and the Tides too. Always loved his (all too few) songs on the SY albums but he's always overshadowed by Thurston and Kim.

Was worth seeing Daydream Nation performed live just to finally hear Hey Joni played loud.

Confusion is Sex/Kill yr Idols is an awesome piece. Sonic Nurse is also wonderful, Unmade Bed woot!
Washing Machine is pretty good, Dirty is pretty good. Goo. Um.. the Destroyed room I liked also.
Rather Ripped kind of expands on Sonic Nurse IMO.
