Roygbiv

Post by Ziggarot »

I might be sooooo late on this, but I have no clue. While listening to Rue the Whirl's ending in Reverse last night (*shifty eyes*), I put in Roygbiv and I think the little girl is saying "Give"...it COULD be "live" too, but it's a somewhat distinct "G" sound...it's interesting because it doesn't even sound like it is backwards in the first place, so people might assume she is saying "Lake" or "Late"...but I really think this is one of those Sesame Street voices again and she's saying "Give" backwards. XD Anyways that's just my latest observation, anyone thought differently...agree, disagree? hehe

edit: I just thought...or she could be saying (silenced out "roy g")"Biv!" You never know with BoC!

I always thought it was just ''hey'', but I could be wrong.

Beyond "hey," I thought another possibility could be "rain" because of the ROYGBIV reference to a rainbow. But then again, that's just one approach to the puzzle. Perhaps music really is math.

I've always had it set in my head that it was "yeah" in reverse. Here, I've uploaded a clip of that one part reversed. It has to be "yeah".

Hey zander two,

It never occured to me that ROYGBIV was anything to do with rainbows, till now that is.

I realise now that ROYGBIV is an acronym. At school I learnt a mnemonic for the colours of the rainbow based on this acronym:-

'Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vain'. It relates to an event in British history.

Anyway, on another note. I love ROYGBIV. It's a tune that fills me with joy every time I listen to it. :P

See ya later, kozmikoid.

Awww, don't give me all the credit. You think I knew what ROYGBIV was before I got ahold of MHTRTC? That 'Richard of York' thing sounds interesting, I'm not familiar with that one being a Yank and all. Although, I did visit York during my childhood.
