That was pretty sweet. Reminds me of AE :)

Drax 2 is on youtube now. Not sure how I missed the previous posts, this is the first time I'm hearing it. This is the kind of Squarepusher I was hoping for on this release, now I can get excited about it.

Couldn't get into Dark Steering or Energy Wizard but Drax 2 is much more like it. Good stuff. Not sure if it's enough for me to get the album yet though.

Squarepusher is best when he is making music that melts faces.

Agreed. That's why I didn't get Dark Steering or Energy Wizard. The synths sound pretty cheap which I don't think is intentional...

That's what I first thought, but after a couple of listen it grows on you. Reminds me somehow of Daft Punk.

It's a good album indeed, although not very balanced. 4001 and Drax 2 are the highlights for me.

Got hold of the leak too and had a listen today. I must say, other than Dark Steering, it's not really my cup of tea.

Then again, I'm not a typical Squarepusher fan. I really only love Just a Souvenir and Music is Rotted One Note, so I'm not sure what you can make of this...

Either way, I'll definitely give it another go. Sometimes things click the second time around.

Any more thoughts?

I have played it twice and agree with pointlessdude that it seems very unbalanced. Some tracks are brilliant but some seem very weak, very hit and miss imo.
