Don't know about sad, but it's sort of funny.

People will never agree on genres - perhaps 'genre perception' is subjective?

Having just set up a 5.1 system, I'm hoping for a 5.1-mastered version. I know it won't happen, but it would be awsome.

It would be cool if the new album dropped when diablo 3 comes out.

I'd say it partly is. However, there is a bit of a general consensus in play. Unfortunately, a lot of people generally have no understanding of music. That's why lots of people call all types of electronic music 'Techno'.

Forgive them Lord for they know not what they do!

Some of the comments found on youtube really put the human race to shame, it defies belief the amount of abuse those idiots hurl at each other!! Sometimes they can be amusing (if you're in the right frame of mind) but mostly, as you say, it's a bit sad.

Pretty sure that is Bilinda of My Bloody Valentine, who somehow hasn't aged a day in 20 years!

At this rate I reckon we'll see a new MBV album before BoC. ;)

I forgot they had posted "in the studio" on myspace on December 22, which I noticed is the date of the Winter Solstice. Awesome.

I'm putting my money on the fact that Peter Serafinowicz was right about a double album. A tall bet but imagine the payoff.

I shouldn't be concerned about the possibility, but what if it isn't very good when it finally comes out?

I mean, I'd really hope not, and it is BoC...I just can't shake this feeling that there might be some disappointment. A lot of people happened to be disappointed with TCH, but that was 3 years...this album really needs to pack a punch after how long it's been.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

boc have never let me down and if seven forty seven and trans canada highway are any indication as to where the new record is going, I'll put the money down for 3 copies of the vinyl and one CD right now.

Oh my god. You're right. BoC, if you read this, don't bring an album out just incase it disappoints people. I mean, what if it's not as good as the others. I can't take the pressure.

It is indeed the beautiful Bilinda Butcher. I recently bought the MBV reissues so I've basically been solely listening to them since. But yeah, she hasn't aged at all, she's gorgeous.

I heard Kevin was making arrangement for a new album coming out asap

This may be off topic (which shouldn't be anything new for this thread) but I was looking for this article that interviewed BoC for what their favorite songs were and most if not all the songs they listed were made up... I just was wondering where i'd find a picture of that page... Didn't see it on BoCpages... but then again maybe I didn't look hard enough.

If anyone could help me out i'd really appreciate it.

Really, they made up random song titles? Are you sure they weren't just tracks their friends did or something? I wouldn't put it passed Aphex Twin to do something like that, but BoC haven't really seemed to be that big of trolls. lol

That's just what you do though, isn't it? When you're making music I mean... write a bunch of stuff and then title it afterwards. I mean yeah, sometimes you do set out with a clear image in your head and try and write "to" that, but most times you just flesh things out and see where they end up. Especially with instrumental music, but think about non-instrumental music for a sec, most of the titles for that is based off the lyrics and the lyrics are usually the last thing you do anyway. I know most of my stuff has working titles, and only gets a final title when its near finished or if it has lyrics, takes a title from that.

Some of Aphex's titles are a bit more trolly, but I think even that's a reaction to the pointlessness of giving stuff like that a title... the more abstract something is, the less sense it makes to call it something "normal".
