Boards Of Canada - Trails (remastered (sort of))

Post by Ensoi »

I found the trails samples in better quality so i thought i might put this together, it progresses just like a song! Wow! I didn't add anything else because i'm not BOC! Shocking!

I don't understand why BOC didn't want to release this lovely piece, it's a shame.

Sorry I really don't know how to add that soundcloud stream thing.

I just had old boc samples. Probably from a torrent.

It's from the old flash site. You looped it using some audio editing program correct? Isn't that why you wanted me to upload those old loops for you?

I had no idea I even had these otherwise I wouldn't have asked, I feel kinda bad about asking though. :x

Oh sorry these were separate loops, it had the piano synth and pad separate on the track. It also had seven fortty seven, happy cycling and time apple.

That is correct, I have those same samples, and they are indeed the stems for the songs.

I don't suppose you could upload them somewhere and toss the link in my general direction? :D

It will take a bit of hunting, but I will try to dig them out.
If I cant find it then its ok because I know for sure they all come from the BOC unofficial discography torrent, should be easy to find again.

So this is a combination of two 'Trails' loops? I didn't know there was a second accompanying loop aside from the main melody line. Very cool.

Simply amazing. I can see how "Tears From The Compound Eye" could be derived from this.

It has that sense of ambiguity, like you don't know if it's happy or sad, but you know it's beautiful.

I once had a track named "Trails." It was on the fake Closes Vol. 1 album...but it had some kind of rythem to it, like a drum rythem as it continued. I hope i can find it again...

Im not so sure, so ill just throw the question out there, HOW MANY PEOPLE DON'T HAVE THE OLD BOC SITE SAMPLES? Because ill upload them...if anyone needs...

Thank you so much for doing this! It's always nice to hear something new from them, even if it isn't.
