I love to cook. I was surprised at the amount of guy friends I have that don't even know how to boil pasta let alone prepare a full home cooked meal.
Anyways, here's what I've been making:
Homemade Pizza on Wheat Crust, Jalapeno Peppers, Fresh Spinach, Fresh Garlic, Olive Oil, Sauce and Turkey Sausage:

Marinated Pork. Slow Roasted in Banana Leaves for 4 Hours:

After 4 Hours Mmmmm

I served the Pork with Sauteed Veggies and also made white rice:

Haha, yeah... That pork fell apart it was so tender and juicy, full of sweet spicy flavor. I don't eat a lot of pork at all though only when I make that dish. I don't eat red meat either. I eat a lot of turkey and chicken though. I've been red meat free for like 2 years now, I went to my Brother's house and all they had for dinner was steak and burgers/grill out food. I ate a burger and got sooo sick. Tried to eat some Meat Loaf earlier this year and I my stomach was on edge...Amo Bishop Roden wrote:polar sky, you're starting to make me regret my vegetarianism
Yeah she loves it. She makes some good food too though. What is your favorite British Dish that you like to make?hexagon son wrote:Holy shit Polar Sky! Your wife must fucking love you! I can't cook shit in Japan as I don't know what half the ingredients are at the supermarket. I make great British food though, if that counts for anything?

Tell me about it lol. Accidentally ate some chicken (hidden in mashed potatoes, for god's sake!) recently for the first time in over a year and nearly choked! Probably all psychological seeing as it was only a bite, but nevertheless it was pretty grosspolar sky wrote:Haha, yeah... That pork fell apart it was so tender and juicy, full of sweet spicy flavor. Me and my BFFs Shannon and Amanda get together every week and cook something, then smoke weed, drink wine and watch My Little Pony.
We've made:
Sushi (crab rolls, asparagus rolls, fried tofu rolls)
Spicy teriyaki vegetable stir fry
Curried cauliflower
Alfredo pasta with lemon zest, garlic, green olives and artichoke hearts
and I just got word from their house that they have pickled 1lb of garlic.
the recipe:
1 cup apple cider vinegar, 1 cup water, 2 TB salt, a TB or two of crushed red pepper, 1/4 teaspon death rain cajun seasoning (mostly cayenne powder), a few fresh sage leaves, and about a pound of garlic.
food is love <3

Making kolaches today! The dough is rising as we speak..
There's a large German/Czech/Polish population in central/east Texas, where I used to live. Visited over Memorial Day weekend. Enjoyed the obligatory dozen kolaches. Figured I'd come home and try and make them myself.
Hope they turn out well..

Food and communal eating are so awesome. Eating together and talking is so enjoyable.
I cooked cheese and bacon tortellini tonight with tomato and basil sauce, on a bed of spinach garnished with jalapenos, was damn fine.

Bump for justice. I find cooking just so therapeutic, sociable and just a good life skill to be able to explore and share and develop your own style!
Spaghetti Bolognaise tonight, with the bolognaise made from scratch. Usually add carrots mushrooms and broccoli to make it really something but tonight there was no veg, so just went with the garlic/onion/tinned tomato/spices/mincemeat recipe which is always delicious. Slow cooked it for extra long this time and added Henderson's Relish (native and I think exclusive to the north of England - SO good) and added a bit more salt. Powdered with grated cheddar. Awesome
