Authenticity of this Geogaddi promo album

Post by WhiteSmoke »

At risk of losing this possible rarity I naively bought this album at the thought of having a rare piece of BOC memorabilia. Even before buying i could not find this one specific album sleeve. Stamped with 6 blue haxagons around the hole for the album to b seen. Anyways I won the auction and I want to know does anyone recognize this sleeve in anyway. Thoughts?

EDIT I CANT ATTACH A URL OR IMAGE FOR THE LIFE OF PLEASE COPY N PASTE THE WHOLE URL

Honestly, the easiest way to tell is going to be buying it and playing it - most people don't know how to compensate for an RIAA equalization curve so it'll sound really awful and mid-heavy if it's a bootleg.

Those stamps look too irregular and uneven to be legit

Couple of Items for thought.

I only paid 24$ usd so if its just an A & O vinyl promo im cool with that.

The stamps may have been done by a fan.

The stamps could have been done by BOC and given as a gift?

About bootlegging, this seller has 100% positive feedback. with great reviews, as well as selling a etching single sided of the F side of Geogaddi at this moment.

Unless that etching is a bootleg, then i'd say im pretty sure my promo will be real. Fingers crossed.

The Geogaddi Promo may be special or it may just be the work of a rogue stamper.

Either way, that's a great price to pay for it.

Is it the 180 gram version or the regular weight?

I don't think its the 180 for the seller said its from 2002. According to Discogs that one is from 2001. I believe given away at a party.

Yeah it is a great deal, you guys should seriously check out Ebay, and use this website called justsnipe.com to win every auction.
