very much but u guys kno how it is sometimes its like you dont even kno where 2 look and some times theres just so many new things coming at 1nce .. . well basically i think this is a good thread 2 make for ppl who are lookin for NEW music to listen to which is really good

oh my word where to start.. Ill just list a few bands per genre

if you're into hip hop check out these guys:

doseone's hemispheres is a classic underground album

deep puddle dynamics is pretty dope

eyedea & abilities' first born is very impressive

if you want more guys like boards..

try the books, they have their similarities

black moth super rainbow.. though I hate them a little bit too.

if you're into weird, genre pushing stuff..

check out tom waits. He's a genius.

or son of dave.. hes kinda similar

department of eagles..

I've also been listening to white denim's first two lps, they're pretty good.

these are just a few off the top of my head but if you specify what genre you're looking for I can probably help

The Books gave me some of my most favourite records ever, and I love them to death, I'll follow whatever Nick Zammuto does until he dies. (<_<)

If one is looking for similar artists to BoC, take a look at Flutterspot and Little Plastic Pilots. They're both worth a look.

and honestly it kind of comes down to opinion lol. I see resemblance in certain songs an example being Chain of Missing Links... which zammuto himself has said was inspired by boc.

They both use numerology and strange themes and hidden messages/voices/samples and they both have very ambiguous sounding music. I also sorta discovered them through boc

When you say they sound nothing alike, I think you mean more that they don't have weird synth chord like sounds and 70s documentary kind of stuff or aren't as electronic. In that way yes, but I don't think every other artist or whatever that tries to use that formula sounds like boc as a result. I'm noting a similarity in the aesthetic, not that they actually match the sound exactly.[/url]
