Just received a mail from Follow That Page about boardsofcanada.com having changed the status, seems like the site was down or something for a few minutes...
Anyone noticed any changes?

I went on the BoC page and looked at the black box and felt hopeful.

Ironically, that makes me feel nostalgic. I remember that feeling!

The black box is the monolith from 2001. We are the monkeys. Instead of bashing a bone against the ground it's a finger pressing F5 on a big keyboard.

Nope. It's been there for at least a couple months.

I keep getting (every few months) these pangs of hope and rising waves of expectations...

... man, I love BoC...

...more than I love my own knees.

I think I love most things more than I love my own knees.

I just hope the next BoC thing to come out isn't the BBC4 documentary in 2050.

That said, it would be an awesome documentary, with all the secrets revealed. Hope I'm alive to see it.

we are all junkies - going cold turkey

c'mon BoC give us a fix like?
Sagan: In order to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first invent the universe.

Basinski: I wanted Cascade to become this crystalline organism like a star or a liquid crystal spaceship, a jellyfish traveling through the galaxy…

Predictions:

*Like with Geogaddi, BoC are preparing a mass series of 'launch parties'

*A new album will feature a full-length visual component; it will be an audio-visual album (both will be played simultaneously @ launch parties)

*BoC have also been working tirelessly to perfect their live performance. Unhappy with the ten-a-penny electronic music live performances out there, and building on their love of quality live & heavy-tour music such as the Incredible String Band, a multi-performer live show is in development [Not too sure about this last prediction tbh. I think, in all honesty, the bros might get frustrated from time to time that they've not really been a live act, but, that said, perhaps too much time has passed and they have too much of a crazy following that the fear is it would be a bit too intense to consider further live shows.]

Prediction:

BoC never releases a new album or is heard from again.

Oh my god......

That would all be incredible as I would just be over the moon to know that a new album is actually coming out. I mean seriously, over a year since the black box and still no news blah blah blah.

You know, maybe they're waiting for us to do something.

Maybe the black box could be changed at any time but there's something from the fanbase that is required for this to happen.

Just some speculation...after all, that's what this thread is supposed to be.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.
