years ago... around 1992 I think. I was forced into a double date mainly because I had a car. I was in one of those moods that night where I didn't care about the company and made things uncomfortable for everyone. When we were driving i had that one song by Lords of Acid that goes I wanna sit on your face and the girls looked really uncomfortable. How I got to knock boots that night is beyond me.

I thought I was going nowhere with my situation, guess not.

I've known and been friends with this girl for about 3 and a half years; she lives about 10 hours away in Missouri. We just have so much in common, know each other inside out, and have established that we're both pretty anxious people at first and we're cool with perhaps being a little quiet at first. I guess that's a pro of meeting someone online, being able to agree on things like that (though it takes away some of the fun~).

But anyhow, I'm planning on going down to meet her on the 24th. I can't wait. I just need to figure a ton of stuff out, never been out of the country (I'm in Canada) or driven by myself that far before o_O also my parents are really iffy about stuff like this, so I've left it at "A road trip with a destination in mind, someone I've known for quite awhile".

I hope it works out. She's like, as perfect as it gets for someone like me.

today, OK Cupid suggested I had a 75% compatibility with a Brokencyde fan. I'd like to file a complaint.

That site did that sort of shit to me all the time. Eventually gave up on it.
You're gonna carry that weight.

spent my birthday drinking, smoking, and talking on my studio's fire escape with a cute girl. There was smooching. Best birthday since I was like, 14 and got a computer.

So shortly before the end of the school year, I worked up enough courage to personally give a note to a girl I liked. It said how I felt and had my number written on it, to which my friend said wasn't a practical idea. After that I had been desperatley waiting to see if she would call untill I had a dream where I met up with her and she said "It was a nice gesture, but I'm afraid I have to decline.". Since then I've basically given up hope with her.

On top of that, the band teacher hasn't sent me stuff to practice over the summer, so I'll probably skip jazz band this year and my friend may not be coming back to school this year.

Doesn't look like senior year is going to be any better.

I know it sounds player-ish but don't reveal just how much you might be interested in a lady so soon. Picture it as having a hand of cards in a card game. Reveal them a little bit at a time and when it's appropriate. You want there to be some mystery so they are thinking more about you when you aren't chatting or around each other.

See how you not knowing how she feels at first is driving you a little nuts? It's the same thing.

There could be loads of reasons why she hasn't called. Many of them not even related to you specifically. So you shouldn't dwell on it. Just be cool and have a good summer.

had dinner with an ex I hadn't talked to in two years last night. We've both mellowed out considerably and we both had a really good time hanging out with each other.
Age helps. Alcohol and apologies do too.

The reason I did so was because I had never conversed with her throughout the entire year, so I promised myself that I would at least tell her before the year's out. It's not like I poured my heart out or anything pathetic like that.

Whatever, she has the jazz band, I just have a bass guitar that I only occasionally play.

"The key to a woman's heart lies in two things: careful neglect and sex appeal." - A very, very intelligent woman I know

Attraction IS somewhat of a game. You have to be a 'player' of this game to some extent if you want to be successful. It's just the way the world works. Of course there are romantic, story-book exceptions, but they are few and far between.

Never, ever, ever tell a woman you like her. These things should be communicated subtly--sexually, not verbally.
