The Official Video Games Thread

Post by 747Music »

I'm surprised that this thread doesn't already exist. There was a Wii thread and a PS3 thread, but no games in general thread. So here it is folks.

Is anyone else playing Dragon's Dogma? The game is awesome. I have a lvl 90 Assassin. If you're playing it on the PS3 you can add me and use my high level pawn if you want.

I recently beat Max Payne 3 as well. It was great. A nice sound track. Check out this song from the OST: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BtT0K7hHL-I
It was done by the band HEALTH.

So what games are you guys up to.

MW3, MW2 for online gaming.

otherwise, Yakuza 3, Assasins Creed Brotherhood, MGS4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ghost Recon (the first 2)- for when i don't have internet access (i work at sea).

I don't buy games new- i get them 2nd hand when i have the cash and feel like it- hence my games are not always the most up to date- keeps me entertained tho

i'm on PS3- user name "basepair". feel free to add. 8)

I've been stuck on Left 4 Dead 2 for a while now. Here, soon, though, I think I'll start up the fallout series.. Have yet to play them!

I'm currently re-playing Psychonauts. I don't know if you've heard but the latest Humble Bundle (I'm guessing it's already over but I'm not sure) was amazing as it included this game, Limbo, Braid and Amnesia. I already had all of those but it's nice to buy them there too :P. I'll replay Braid too after finishing Psychonauts. Also thinking about replaying Amnesia but I'm not sure if I'm up to it honestly!

I don't usually play a lot of video games, but I've been too beat from work to go out the last couple of days and am experiencing a massive writers block, so I dug out the 360. Red Dead Redemption FTW.

Yeah, Red Dead Redemption is awesome. Rockstar is on a roll right now. RDR, then LA Noire, then Max Payne 3, next is GTA V which looks amazing.

I've been playing The Sims: Bustin' Out on my (sister's boyfriend's) PS2, but I hope to get a 360 soon so I can finally play games like Dead Rising, Resident Evil 5, and the new GTA V.

Is it any good? I'm thinking of getting it to tide me over till 'Dishonored' comes out (Dawnguard, I mean, not Skyrim itself)

Yes pretty good. Only just started playing yesterday but so far I like it. I just love the whole Skyrim world and was glad to have some new content to get me back into it.

I've still got Mass Effect 3 to play too. Gonna start that after completion of Dawnguard :)

One thing that's nicer than playing video games is playing one of your favorite games in your own PC emulator :P.

I played Monkey Island when I was a kid. Back then I didn't get that joke with missing files or something while walking in the woods, thought my game was broken.

I was obsessed with LucasArts / Monkey Island as a kid. I keep meaning to replay 'Grim Fandango', which is one of my favourite games (storyline / atmosphere wise, it's unsurpassed) ever.

Final Fantasy VII is being re-released on PC. Not much change though. You can use cheats and cloud saves. Follow this link to see more (wallpapers, PC specs, etc...).

Thanks for posting this, I hadn't heard about it until now. I'm stoked :-D

EDIT: The cloud save feature sounds excellent, I can play the game at home and at work :-). I like the idea of achievements also but the character booster feature can piss off, what a way to take the fun / challenge out of a great game, cheating in ff7 is pointless.
