John Peel show with BoC session online

Post by IanRedpoint »

Sadly not the first transmission with the interviews, but some kind soul has put 458 John Peel shows onto soundcloud. One of them is the show with the repeat broadcast of BoC's session.

Great to hear those tunes in context and of course wonderful to hear the late great Peel talking about them.

Ah yeah, you can still find the interview clips on youtube if you look about. The only recorded BoC voices? Or is there more?

Cheers for this mate.

Nice! Indeed very cool to hear it in context. And it still gives this shock of *omg boc on the radio* thing

Here's XYZ with the bit of interview bit on soundcloud for the potential noobies:

This is great. Thanks much for sharing--I've always wanted to listen to the Peel show, so I'm actually more excited about listening to all the clips than the BoC connection (although that's a nice benefit, too).

Superb find Ian. I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent Peel Archive?

Not officially, as far as I know. I could easily find myself listening to these all the time to the exclusion of almost all other music. Most of them have no notes or track listing so it's the same voyage of discovery I felt every time I listened to his show. :)

User +db also seems to have been suspended from Soundcloud, which I hope isn't so. He had some great albums up there :(

Please keep it to yourselves ;) You wouldn't want this track to be taken off the net again, wouldn't you?

EDIT: I'm really truly sorry, I didn't pick the description before it got 404'd! So all the tracklist's missing... If you have it, please share so that I can put it there! Thanks!

Thanks for putting that back up. Really appreciate it. Perversely I actually like not having the tracklisting. It makes it more like listening to the show, not knowing what is coming next. :)

I still miss him and I wish I'd had a radio and listened more often when I could.
