I read an interview a while back they did with Pitchfork *shivers* and they said they make a ton of music, but a lot of it is too "different from the BoC style" so they don't ever release it.

It'd be cool if they made another "old tunes" release with a bunch of stuff that wasn't "BoC material".

Aside from this, I get this gut feeling that because of all the speculation, they're going to release a "best of" record and not say anything about a new release for a year just to make everyone mad as a joke, then release their new album.

something tells me that a few months after the new album, they are going to hit us with a ton of unheard music from their earlier catalog.

I mean the word is they've been archiving all their old stuff for years and same goes for unused songs from every album they've put out so far... so I wouldn't be surprised at all. I think it makes sense that a large period of inactivity would follow with a fuck ton of activity from the band. But this is also me being optimistic.

either good or terrible idea- it will either attract a lot of legitimate fans or terrible people who will post obnoxious shit.

I was thinking more along the lines of what the brothers would take it as. 300 posts of fans asking for a new album, whether they're bitching or not, sure is a lot of love. Doesn't WATMM have a thread like this as well? So, at the very least, it could spark another "Like" from the band or maybe, just maybe, since there's so many pages and posts with even more views, they and/or Warp would type a few sentences about their productivity. After all, the Peter Serafinowicz drop sparked a lot of optimistic attention back in February and made Warp's ears perk up, and all he did was talk out of his ass (for all we know) about apparent rumors of a double album.

Has MDG ever told us whether the two check up on this community? I know he's a representative, so of course he'd mention this place to them from time to time, but if I were working with them, there are obviously more important things going on in their world (like the permission to use "Gyroscope" in Sinister and whatever other offers they're receiving from time to time) that all I'd say about this place is "It's still hopping, lots of posts and one where people are waiting for the new album. Sometimes they get a bit too feisty or start calling me out so I pop in every now and then. Can we listen to Solange now, Marcus?" (Side note: She has a new record coming out this month for those who care. I like her a lot and the single has a really nice synth pad in it).

I understand that, I was doing a quick recap of this thread for people like myself who haven't been on here for a while, to save them any heartache.
