Portugal finally had it coming to them.

Vigo, Ronaldo, Pauleta (and even Scolari) are enormous annoying personalities, I have to put Robben here as well just to point out my point of view without taking it on the whole Portuguese team.
What a bunch of divers they are.. they even believe in it, see how they look at the referee when they do a dive. They surely need to concentrate on playing some football and then they might stand a chance.

Btw, the French didn't deserve a penalty.

Frances penalty claim was far more a pen than some of that flying about Ronaldo did in the box!!!!

Allsn Shearer completely hit the nail on the head after the game saying "Portugal could have been there all year and not scored, they never looked like scoring or even looked confident in getting a goal"

Exactly what I said after the England game. Portugal are not a good team. Lets be honest. As a football team they have a long way to go imo. They didnt deserve to be in the final.

Schweinsteiger was man of the match, he scored 2 times against the Portuegese Republic, so Germany has won bronze in the world cup 06.

My favourite moment of the 3rd place game: the slow motion replay of one of Cristiano Ronaldo's dives. You could see him looking at the referee long before he even hit the ground.

It really is such a pity to see how the quality of all the individual players isn't used to the fullest...

The perfect passes from Deco, Figo and Maniche are a feast for the eye but the poor finishing of mostly Ronaldo is such a waste.
I kind of feel the same way about him as I do about Robben.. both very talented football players but such a crap personality.
They both have the ability to pass a few defenders without any trouble but nearly always try to make one step too much. They both seem to dive like it's their hobby and without realizing this'll only hinder them when something really happens. + Ronaldo shoots at the goal too much, how often was it succesfull?

Now <i>that</i> I find revolting, it's such a waste...

What a way to finish your career. He could have been a national hero. God knows what got into him to do that. Maybe Materazzi was chattin away to him but ZZ of all people should be able to block shit out on the field. Hes one hell off a professional, well, was. I think he got his nipple tweeked!!!

Shame for the final to be decided on peno's.
