Wow. I just recently read this thread and have been on a Grouper binge ever since. I am pretty much in awe of her work. Quite different from what I usually listen to... Haven't been this excited about an artist in a long time, almost like the first time I heard BoC. Thanks for the suggestion!

Her last album didn't really hook me. It's possible it just got lost in the shuffle of other great stuff. I'm really liking Alien Observer though. It's great.

I think many people aren't aware of Grouper's various pseudonyms and side-projects.

For instance, she recently collaborated with Tiny Vipers under the moniker "Mirrorring".

She also did an EP with Ilyas Ahmed (who I have grown very fond of as well) under the name Visitor.

I also doubt a lot of people know this beautiful song.

I really, really like Grouper. She is my favorite artist at the moment.

Please post more obscure songs by her if you know any..

If you like Mirrorring you guys should also check out Visitor.

Liz Harris also appears to be in the band Badgerlore. I discovered that band about a year ago and I loved it (without realizing that Grouper was in it). It's not entirely similar to her other projects but it's definitely good "downer music" too.

There will be both a re-release of "Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill" as well as a full album of hitherto unreleased tracks which were written during the same period as "Dragging.."

I'm happy about that. Properly got into Grouper in the last year, and I'll be glad to see another album available that's not 'AIA'.
