Weight Loss

Post by YELLOW »

Anyone have any epic weight loss pictures or stories to tell? I'm trying to change my life around from where I was and it's been about a month so far and I am down 15 lbs, with my ultimate goal to be another 75

Heavily cutting down on my alcohol and fastfood (and other unhealthy food) consumption and more cycling and walking made me lose some 28 lbs.

i lost 50 pounds from late 2008 to early 2010. the first 30 was from some crazy flu I caught in florida. Then when i got better i said "i don't want that weight back!" and lost another 20. so basically I went from 215 to 165... now I'm about 175 to 180 because I'm unemployed, depressed, and haven't worked out.

I'm 6 foot, was 215lbs at the end of December 2009, my heaviest I've been. Was pretty chubby and hated myself for it. Multiple times I tried losing weight but just gave up after a week, I was lazy, not motivated and sad. Then I vowed, beginning in 2010, to lose weight. I wasn't sure how much, but I just knew that I would work my fat ass off. By only doing, mostly, bodyweight exercises and some weight training, I lost a total of 60lbs in under 5 months. The weight just fell off me.. I didnt change my diet much (I ate pretty well before hand, and drank beer weekly[still do lol]) I just began doing exercise.. now I do less weight training, but more bodyweight exercises and cardio. I've taken up cycling and spinning which I love. I'll post some pics up later if you want. I still drink a lot and eat a lot, I just workout at least ~30 to 60 minutes a day.

The key, in my opinion, is to just keep with it. Don't bust your ass, just do what you can every day and see where it gets you. Just keep it regular. Don't be one of these faggots at the gym tho pump iron and take juice, fuck that, just keep your heart rate elevated over a 30-minute (at least) period of time each day and take one or two rest days. Easy as that. In fact it was pretty damn easy I tell you.

Anyone ever tried/or heard of Intermittent fasting? I've only been fasting for a 6 days and already i've lost 5lbs. Would definitely recommend it for anyone who either wants to lose a large amount of weight, or small. I take the 7th day off and have a cheat day.

Yeah I did http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fast-5_Diet for about 6 months and am about to go back on it again. Basically, you eat nothing except for within a 5 hour window. It worked really well, once you get over the hump of the first week, while your body adjusts. People think you're mad for doing it, but once you explain it, and that you're not starving yourself (your body never goes into starvation) they get it.

I remember the second or third day on it, I got to a couple of minutes before my window closed and I was thinking "I'm not hungry, but if I don't eat something now, it's nothing for 19 hours" :)

I was hideously overweight, but this year all I did was cut out a load of crap food. I've lost 5.1/2 Stone and counting.

The first month is hard, but it gets easier

Yeah, about this. I've lost over 2 stone since June. Partly due to my knee rehab (ie. shit loads of running) and partly due to my wife being on Slimming World.

Started at a frankly silly 16stone 4 and now down to 14 stone 2, albeit I must have put some on this week. Wasn't looking to lose weight, but now I'm here, I'm aiming for around 13 stone - 13.5 stone ish.

I'll do it too. Helps having no choice. Exercise, or don't run/play football again. Not much of a choice really. :?

And that - incidentally - is an awesome performance. Seriously, well done!
