Anyone?
Don't know what these are, but these are plausible "finding our sound" BoC. (I mean, they're probably not, but they sound a bit Old Tunes-y, and don't have that "copy of MHTRTC" feel to em like a lot of fakes seem to)

Yeah, no problem. I got them about 8-9 years ago. Can't remember where. But I love them. Would love to find out who did them.

Can we keep this thread going? Some great music so far (I know it's fake as f*ck) But I enjoy listening to it. I know there's so much fakes out there, share what you've got.

That one is very good.

So is this one. The video is almost as surreal as the audio.

check out tycho, he has a very strong boards of canada vibe in his music. but i dont label him as a copycat. i really enjoy his work.

here is an extremely rare tycho song ( this song def. has a dj shadow vibe to it ) ( and the photo used in the video shows the boards of canada influence even in his artwork )

and this might be my favorite tycho song of all time, i simply cant describe where it takes me

I have that Tycho t-shirt, with the pic from the In The End video. I definitely enjoy his stuff. And yeah, there is definitely a BoC vibe going on in some of his work.

This thread reminds me of a particular Samuel Beckett play...

well just to say, I don't think your stuff rips off BoC that much.

BoC have a much hazier and psychedelic quality to them.

Your stuff, and most stuff posted either here or just music from people here on the forum which is BoC inspired is much cleaner, melodies are more defined.

People can get the melodies and the synths and sometimes the percussion, but I've yet to find one that brings em all together in such a way that I can say "that's BoC" and not "that's a BoC ripoff"

of course not, because if a track encompassed all those elements then it probably would be boc...

it's like this: no-one sets out to do an entire album so they can present it to the world as being boards of canada, it's just music that's influenced by them. plain and simple. the term 'rip-off' is pretty hollow if you ask me. 9/10 it's probably people raggin' on music because they can't make it themselves.

Incidentally Ciaran, I've very recently purchased a legit copy of Nine Lives Causeway. Great album.

So anybody who wants a copy of Ciaran's albums, now's a good time.

Ross Adey, did you give up the alias "Ciaran Bynre" for "Adeyhawke"? and who's Keith? do you mean Helios (aka Goldmund)?
