Hey, does someone know if they are still active? I still think Breaker is one of the best albums that I've ever heard and I'm getting desperate for more!

They also just re-released a few albums on CD. I'm waiting for the t-shirts to be in stock because I want to order one of those and a copy of Evolution of Bulbuss and the Polymorphic Nightmare. I tried to years ago but there was no response from their website.

Listened his whole discography and i liked it a bit - reminds a lot of CFCF stuff.
Not my kind of music but very good things he has :)

New Ep out from Yimino! It's absolutely amazing! Very much in style with Breaker, heavy and deep.

Kahvi Collektive is writing this about the new EP: "If you're a fan of Boards of Canada (if you aren't why not?) then you'll recognise some of the qualities from two of the tracks (Joseph and the title track). Sentimental atonal keys in the traditional Boards of Canada style, sweeping analogue warmth and melancholic feelings."

The song 'Baby BC3's Ascent' on last EP is like Yimino's own 'You Could Feel The Sky'. Excellent stuff.

For me, there's something missing with Yimino and I struggle to put my finger on exactly what it is. Initially I really liked Breaker, but the near-identical drums on every track started to grate after a while. It's all beautifully produced but a bit soulless.

I have a similar problem with Future Sound Of London - everything's a little too clean and digital. There's no accidental untidiness to the sound. There's no sense of either the band or the machines making a mistake. No happy accidents.

It's the human looseness of BoC that I love, that I think gives them something most other electronic artists miss. Even with Ae, there's that sense that they encourage their machines to misbehave, to be imperfect.

Yimino are a bit too perfect, like a polished pebble. I'd take the relative roughness of any of the Twoism artists over them any day. Perfection is overrated. ;)
