Announcement: currently untitled EP

Post by Jonse »

I want to announce a project I've been working on along with Kinesthetiac and Kamas over the last month or so. It's an EP that we are collaborating on together and so far I'm really liking the results. You can listen to the first track we've finished, "Cobalt Surge" here, as well as two demos here and here.

Thanks for checking it out (if you do). More information will come soon.

Impressive! I really loved the second half with the synth solo and the vignette at the end. Great ideas there. Will definitely be on the lookout for that EP.

That said, I personally hope there will be less bit crushing on the other tunes. ;) But that's just me, I'm simply not a fan of this effect. Other than this - wonderful!

Thanks for the feedback.

Unfortunately, much of this EP is going to have a "crushed" and rough sort of sound to it, but if by crushed you mean the use of a bitcrusher itself then that's there's only two tracks that use it so far.

I've gotten less and less into "Known" artists, and instead finding myself listening to Twoism artists. It's so refreshing and interesting. I love it. So much talent on this board. I've got all you guys saved my Soundcloud, it's like my own Twoism.org Radio Station.

I like where 414 sounds like its going so far, nice beatwork, the track has energy. The beat is quite prominent in the mix just now, it works but I was hoping the lovely melody and ambience of the first half would be just a fraction more meshed with it, I realise its in demo form though of course. Very nice.

"The Trees" was quite cool, the verby textures are handled well, really like the harsh style, think it has plenty of potential and headroom to make it even more out there and challenging in that arena.

Good stuff!!

Gotta admit it , but i was expecting something much worse.

I wasnt a fan of the bitcrushed sound but i really enjoyed the dubby bassline , and the 2 chord pattern.
Thought the lead was pretty inventive considering its a sample of a boc lead ( :? ) , and the piano at the very end was a nice touch. Lots to like but the bitcrushed beat is too in your face and overpowers the melody which should have more room to shine , rather than play second fiddle to the beat. Its rare that someone will ever remember a track because of itsbeat , so let the melody speak clearly. Thats the thing that will bring someone back for a 2nd , 3rd , 4th listen.

It's funny, Kinesthetiac (who wrote the melody) told me that the beat was actually too quiet, and that it should come in much louder.

The melody is the loudest thing in the track, by a really significant amount. How is the beat "overpowering" it? And there's no BoC lead samples anywhere in that track.

Also, "it's rare that someone will ever remember a track because of its beat, so let the melody speak clearly"...seriously? I wonder how you acquired this information. Did you survey everyone on the planet or something?

Yes, the final version is going to have much more of an ambient sound to it. Thanks for the nice comments, much appreciated.

The track is fucking incredible. The melody in the second half really blows my mind. The way the synth morphes allong with the movement of the melody and even the harmonies is something that made me hold my breath for a second. Last time I felt that was at a party and it was Clark, pretty recent, but still.

That synth line is delicious, oh wow those chords at the end too are superb. I love the second half! Fantastic work!

you gotta be kidding me.
I made that lead from scratch and spent quite a while writing it. How dare you tell me its sampled. Hell if anything that should flatter me
