The new album has been held up over the past year by one or two issues outwith the band's control, but it is finally coming out in 2018.

Edit: I'm just having a look through Hexagon Sun statements on bocpages.org, and it's repeatedly mentioned the band are working on new material, even an "new exhaustive collection of their favourite early work, for future release,"

This is pure speculation, but I'm starting to get the impression the next release is going to be a BIG one, and I'm not talking about a double album.

Speaking of faith;

On the year The Camfire Headphase was released, a new pope was elected.

i have no problem with the wait. in fact, i like the idea of knowing that it will be a complete effort, and was not rushed.

An obvious statement, but visiting this site frequently definitely makes the wait seem longer as you're constantly reminded there's no new album in sight. However when it finally gets announced it'll all seem worth it looking back haha.

Interested to see what they say about the whole black box fiasco if/when they do interviews in the future.

I'm taking the classic forget about it and focus on other music approach, and then when it comes I will completely rediscover them and it will be crazy and almost spiritual in the sense that boc's other works have become a part of who I am. So I will be actively changing.

Everyone give up. They have to break MBV's record. Don't expect a new album in your lifetime.

Yesterday a mod was released that I tried to wait for - 9 long years. But tbh I had lost faith before.

I don't wait for boc, I just come here out of habit.

Nope i never lose hope. I barley discovered them 2 years ago(so i dont share the same pain as some of old fans do) but it still hurts about no news at all except a "yes" that haunts me. I think theyre just putting some finishing touches you know?(gulp, i sure hope)

I don't understand the whole "faith" thing.

It's not about having faith, it's whether or not they decide to produce and release another album. It isn't like we're entitled to one or have some sort of investment in BoC to the point where whether there is another album or not dictates our life and warrants a statement about losing faith.

Seriously, just don't focus on it. If it comes, it comes. If it doesn't, it wasn't supposed to.
Okay...now...wait for fog machine.

If there wasn't going to be anything new then there wouldn't be a black box. Isn't that simple?

I'm sure they won't say anything about the black box - I'd wager that it hasn't even registered with them that it has become a "thing".

As for the topic of this thread - lost faith? No. Interest? A little.

With all the excitement around MBV, I just can't see myself getting as genuinely excited as I did about that with new BoC - I'm sure it'll be great, but I'm just not waiting with baited breath for the announcement.

i think they already answered a question that would pertain to the black box back during the campfire headphase era. when one of the brothers made the comment that sometimes a lack of promotion can turn into promotion in itself.

I actually wasn't excited about new MBV at all tbh. I think they let it all sit too long and it got stale. Also wasn't impressed with the music on it too much

+10

i don't get it either, it can be easy to trip up over hype and believe it.
i don't hear ANY boc in mbv's sound so i don't get what the references are apart from
the 2 brothers name dropping them. theres lo-fi guitars on there? no shit sherlock!
