It's basically the same idea as proposed as a solution to the red moon code. In that case it was three points triangulating a location. In this case it's not clear. I suggested geo caching but at least one looks like it's on private property. Check the other thread.thepastinsidepressant wrote:can you explain to me how this works? X and Y lat and longitude, 4 codes yea, which is X and Y? but we've 2 more to go so where does that leave us?aloiv2 wrote:you are right

Has the film The Numbers Station, starring John Cusack been mentioned yet?
http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=rFZS3spi ... FZS3spi0Xw
Would be a shame if what looks like a terrible film got associated with BOC.

Here's a link to the numbers mapped as geo-cords that works a bit better:
http://gridreferencefinder.com/?gr=NT93 ... _-3.142897
pipes (|) are notoriously badly handled in URLs
That's extremely tantalising to see those numbers form the beginnings of a shape. Surely it can only be a pentagon given how the existing numbers are mapped, and the fact that there are only 6 numbers/points? A hexagon would require 8 numbers/points

Thats an octagon you're thinking of there, a hexagon only has 6 pointsambivalenceavenue wrote:Here's a link to the numbers mapped as geo-cords that works a bit better:

no, see thats the thing, the hexagon has 6 points, we need 2 more points to shape this.ambivalenceavenue wrote:Here's a link to the numbers mapped as geo-cords that works a bit better:

octagon you're thinking of
though the way its looking, its not turning out to be a nice shaped hexagon, i'd have drawn better myself

But a pentagon is only 5.ambivalenceavenue wrote:Here's a link to the numbers mapped as geo-cords that works a bit better:

Apologies, apparently I lack a basic knowledge of shapes!! Still, it looks like it would be a bit of a lopsided hexagon. It's just semantics though I guess, the fact that they map so well is pretty cool!isotoxal wrote:Thats an octagon you're thinking of there, a hexagon only has 6 pointsambivalenceavenue wrote:Here's a link to the numbers mapped as geo-cords that works a bit better:

yes a funny shaped hexy indeed, the 2 letters required before it now have thrown me slightly off this theory. these co-ordinates can be used anywhere, its the damn NT thats taking us there not the numbers! ahhhhhambivalenceavenue wrote:Apologies, apparently I lack a basic knowledge of shapes!! Yeah I think you're probably right to be a bit dubious. Maybe they just used that shape on the map to get the numbers, but their actual purpose is something else (password, url, whatever)?thepastinsidepressant wrote:yes a funny shaped hexy indeed, the 2 letters required before it now have thrown me slightly off this theory. these co-ordinates can be used anywhere, its the damn NT thats taking us there not the numbers! ahhhhhambivalenceavenue wrote:Apologies, apparently I lack a basic knowledge of shapes!! Hmmm, just thinking about some of the stuff Joyrex was throwing out yesterday...
He repeatedly mentioned Silence (at one point, specifically Radio Silence). IMHO meaning after the radio broadcasts, it's going silent for x amount of time. Then, earlier before the radio silence bit (I believe) he was quoted as:
My guess? After the radio broadcasts, we get silence and the next clues will be web related. Either decoded, leaked or otherwise will reveal the next clue(s). Oh, and a revamped boardsofcanada.com for the finale. I know we've had Youtube already, but I'm thinking more along the lines of web pages themselves.
Thoughts?

I said that. 6/6 just makes too much sense lol. Actually I was going off the thinking that someone mentioned the NPR code could be reversed, which would put 24 as the first 2 numbers and 6 as the last, which in UK date terms would be the 24th of June. But I don't really put any stock in the whole reverse code thing, though boc have been known for their reverse melodies. Oh, the insanity!TaoTapeTao wrote:Time to revisit their youtube stuff for any clues.. This guy seems quite intrigued by the number six: http://www.reddit.com/r/boardsofcanada/ ... umber_six/
They even made a new account (the_number_six) to post their theory. Obviously another fan who's just as desperate for a release as us!

Any thoughts on why the DJ on BBC kept referring to Trails again and again in a very obvious fashion during the broadcast yesterday which had the code?
I really thought something may happen today to do with Trails, seeing as they moved the position of the video too and it was already being speculated that it would have something to do with the next one.
I just think it much have some relevance when the DJ kept referring to it, surely a lot of you heard this yesterday?

Just to avoid confusion, the BBC Radio station referred to is (BBC) Radio 1, while BBC1 is the first television channel; very much separate. I imagine there shouldn't be any such broadcasts on BBC1!drixlin wrote:This quote happened right around the same time as BBC1 - which I wouldn't consider anything related to "online" specific (nor NPR).Joyrex April 23rd: My point was they are not (yet) using online specifically to promote this
