WE ARE SO CLOSE TO THE END, GUYS. SO CLOSE. I've been refreshing the shit out of this forum tonight. Good thing it's a relatively peaceful night at work
ETA: So glad to be able to share my excitement with like-minded people. No one I know personally is as excited about this as I am (and most don't have a fucking clue who BoC is). Anything related that I've posted on Facebook is met with :crickets:

Seriously though, I know exactly how you feel. Most people just think I'm going mad with all this number talk and codes and secrets. It's like remember when you guys were all into the DaVinci Code and I didn't care?? Payboc time.1969InTheSunshine wrote:So glad to be able to share my excitement with like-minded people. Yep, smacks of a red herring to me. The amount of work that's gone into this is fantastic, and I'd be really surprised if whoever's behind it slipped up like this.BunnyRabbit wrote:Quite.seanandcandy wrote:we give the brothers so much credit for setting the clues for a grand investigation but then simply presume 'oh, how stupid of them to leave the path file for the audio files in there!!!!'

Been a long time lurker here. Very excited with all this going on - I've tried explaining it to non-BoC fan friends and they think I'm mental. More fool them! Saw all this latest stuff start happening last night about 1am (GMT) but had to hit the hay; woke up and first thing I did was check here!

It's not that they forgot to remove them, it's that Soundcloud's default setting is checked to enable downloads. This is something that could have been easily overlooked by the band (or somebody at warp)seanandcandy wrote:we give the brothers so much credit for setting the clues for a grand investigation but then simply presume 'oh, how stupid of them to leave the path file for the audio files in there!!!!'

Payboc time!
Life is a Frequency
i'm not sure about that. any time i upload music the downloads are disabled by default... it just seems like every single detail has been so meticulously thought out. it definitely wouldn't be something that was overlooked by the band. maybe someone at warp realised they'd done it and spewed green tea all over their imac.KingSpanner wrote:It's not that they forgot to remove them, it's that Soundcloud's default setting is checked to enable downloads. Yeah...moreover I think it would have been difficult to play the tracks simultaneously without downloading them. The noise disappearance requires a perfect synchronization.ross adey wrote:i'm not sure about that. any time i upload music the downloads are disabled by default... it just seems like every single detail has been so meticulously thought out. it definitely wouldn't be something that was overlooked by the band. maybe someone at warp realised they'd done it and spewed green tea all over their imac.KingSpanner wrote:It's not that they forgot to remove them, it's that Soundcloud's default setting is checked to enable downloads. here is a recap of the events: http://bocpages.org/wiki/Record_Store_Day_incidentOttomatik wrote:Guys, I just woke up and I see that you discovered a new code. I just don't understand how did you find out it stands in the second slot?
I think I found the position of the fourth clue (699742).
Open this MP3 file in Notepad++:
http://hosting.earthshine.it/~mark/boc-V1/2-699742.mp3
Find this part:
http://i42.tinypic.com/2mobcet.png
Remove everything before the symbols I marked and save the file as a JPG image.
When you open it, you'll see this:
http://i40.tinypic.com/33tgeph.jpg
...which is weird, because that position is already filled.
