does anyone else notice that the 'musical callsign' loop

sounds very close to the Close Encounters motif?

as in: the boc callsign goes Bflat, C, Aflat, Dflat, Eflat

and the C.E. mofit goes Bflat, C, Aflat, Aflat(octave down), Eflat

means probably nothing except I'm looking anywhere for clues...

Yeah I did, posted about it on Reddit a couple of days ago but didn't get a lot of love for the idea!

They're even in the same key, which is curious...

I doubled them up:

woah these higher quality live recordings are very very interesting. And they were uploaded in the days just before the RSD Incident.

I think the little synth chime is definitely supposed to be a reference to the 5 note czech lady

I have no chance to follow all off the progress of this, you all are so quick and the threads are growing miles every day but I'm so very impressed off you all!
Boc must be lucky to have fans like this!

Irony bypass?
I got the gist of what you were saying. But people being disappointed because a clue is TOO simple are being ridiculous. Maybe I'm just a simpleton when it comes to this stuff, but I'm just amazed at the cleverness of the whole concept, period.

I mean seriously, all they would have had to have done is announced a release date and thousands of fanboys would have shit themselves. It wouldn't take a campaign of this magnitude to placate the masses.
agreed. infinitly more entertaining than lets say...a billboard on sunset blvd saying...
"STONES...50years AND COUNTING" ugh

boards...thanks for putting the fun back into the anticipation of new music!

Yeah I thought the same, but the Close Encounters' jingle is probably derived from this anyway. John Williams is pretty good at taking other people's melodies and slightly changing them.

yes, but i'll say it again, the relevance, where is that to be found in the westminister bells? i'm not talking about the sound/audio, the message in the film, first contact.

Didn't think about it all that deeply but i also thought it was connected. If it is/was connected i dont think it has anything to do with "the hunt" tho, more the way it's all been conducted.

i don't think there is any connection, apart from the numbers stations sometimes using a snippet of music to introduce their broadcasts. just saying it sounds more like the westminster chimes to me than the close encounters tune.

probably nothing of evidence, but i was doing some research on the westminster bells, trying to see if the tune was used for any documented number stations. i couldn't find anything, but i guess the westminster bells are used as test for some emergency sirens in the US. i did some youtubing, and i couldn't help but notice the overall BoC vibe in the timbre of the siren.
