And it's worked. This week I've been binging on Boards, and rediscovering just how good they are. Congratulations, Boards, in advance for the new album, too.

It's been expressed a lot here, but I just want to say how cool this is. I said the exact sentiment earlier, but it's great to see the pre-release as something that fits perfectly with Boards of Canada's 'identity' -- purely to excite the fans, not a cynical corporate contrived 'viral' exercise.

The # usually is used to denote the colors as numbers. Each grey stripe gives you a 2-digit number. Nothing more.North by North wrote:How does the pic instruct that? I saw it the other day, but didn't think anything more of it. Is this more image/file coding sorcery?
But with the pic on twitter it's safe to say that that's the real deal. I guess that makes this youtube thing meaningless.

very good detective work!rdy2bz wrote:Interesting find.corwood wrote:the first one somehow still sounds quite legit to my ears...B0Bthrob wrote:Has anyone found anything about these two mysterious tracks? I don't hear anything obvious that points toward them being fake.
Volscp

ಶೀಘ್ರವಾಗಿ

BUT wait a second, i just realised something:
was it mentioned before that the uploader of volscp is called three15two
then days later the code 628315 indeed is at position number 2
this could have been a clue a along that the NPR code was not meant to be in second position as most of us assumed. it kind of foretells yesterday's code and its position...
that's why there is no code position found in the video, just the plain sequence.
alongside csch which is an abreviation of COSECHA.
any more thoughts on this?
am i seeing ghosts?
Anyone notice their thumbnail image? -> http://i2.ytimg.com/i/9yk4MLngOuFzMoXD_BqA6A/mq1.jpg
When you do the colors (as the picture instructs), you receive 431560 - it contains the 0 that debunks a lot of decipher theories that would have been possible up to now. Also, it would be the first number in the lower 50000 half.
I am still skeptical whether this is legit or a good-coincidence fake. It shows no positioning and nothing that links forward to anything.
if the video's purpose was only to hint at positioning for the latest code in case people did not catch the picture that said ------/xxxxxx/------/------/------/------ last night... it could have been a safety net to tell us where to go with the code.

i'm 38 and i'm with you mate, it's been a long time since i've felt this excited over a new album. I think last time I was like this was when Metallica released the black album in 91, Drukqs by Aphex would be the other. This is surpassing all of them lolSpaced wrote:i'm almost 37. i should not be getting butterflies over the possible news of a music groups new album.
