I hear a two, I don't care. it would make sense to give us a partial repetition as a way to find the key.
so I google 99742.
google is pretty sure this number has only one meaning, a zip code. maybe that's significant? from memory most numbers bring up pages of different products and parts and so on.
I wouldn't give it a second thought, but this zip code, err, the location is just BOC all over....http://www.mapquest.com/maps?zipcode=99742 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gambell,_Alaska

You are aware there are other countries in the world other than the USA and that they do not use zip codes, yes?annoying first time poste wrote:I hear a two, I don't care. it would make sense to give us a partial repetition as a way to find the key.

Haha, the first few seconds were creepy enough for me not to watch further. I'm taking your warning serious and left.Impossible Geometry wrote:does anyone else get creeped out as fuck every time they listen to one of the number station broadcasts? i watched this awhile ago on youtube and its all i picture in my fucking head.
don't be mad at me if you can't fall asleep.
i just started to watch that there, but while the ad was streaming I looked at the comments, and it said about a creepy face floating in the clouds, i hit play, and theres a black and white image of a womans face, and the static... and I knew I was going to get freaked out, like it was a message from the other side or some such shit, so i closed that bastard video down right away. I think it's from watching the ring that theres a tiny bit of my brain that always thinks that static + black and white = scary as hell demon climbing through my monitor, hahaha!Impossible Geometry wrote:does anyone else get creeped out as fuck every time they listen to one of the number station broadcasts? i watched this awhile ago on youtube and its all i picture in my fucking head.

Now I have two reasons to be afraid of numbers stations...

You sir, are opening a can of worms that is going to be spiraling sort of nonsense.Magrathea wrote:well we're talking boards of CANADA right?
Postal codes here are a mixture of numbers and letters.
However, interestingly... they are in the format ABA BAB
Now, that gets Me wondering... I really don't want to start making interpolations in those numbers... A is to B as B is to C etc. etc?

It's okay. We can just stay up all night together. We're in the same time zone at least. Then the number ladies can't get us.Impossible Geometry wrote:FUCK OFF. that one is even worse... hahahaha... i forgot about that one.Amo Bishop Roden wrote:I thought for sure you were going to link this.Impossible Geometry wrote:does anyone else get creeped out as fuck every time they listen to one of the number station broadcasts? i watched this awhile ago on youtube and its all i picture in my fucking head.

Sounds like a plan. I'll bring some wine and my prized collection of Lionel Richie records. We'll call it the official Boards of Canada release party.Impossible Geometry wrote:ok as long as i can be the big spoon. im a tall bastard.Amo Bishop Roden wrote:It's okay. oh ffs I'm not even american, I wouldn't know what a zip code looks like.niknak wrote: You are aware there are other countries in the world other than the USA and that they do not use zip codes, yes?
I didn't google "99742 zip". I googled "99742".
The first 50 or so links all make reference to it as a zip code.
Look at the map. It's practically on the international date line. Check this out - http://images.yourdictionary.com/images ... indate.jpg
It looks like it could be the nearest habitable location to the international date line.
And the book about 'the kids from nowhere', that sounds like a pretty unusual story. They only had 41 kids in their school, and ten of them went on to beat the best of america's schools, on topics they didn't even know existed?
The only other claim to fame is that a spy plane was shot down there.
You can understand why i found it quite intriguing?

they're all disturbing, real or fake. i know the one i posted was fake, it was the production of the video that really got to me. the looped asian woman's head that didnt match the audio at all, randomly being inverted color wise, and with black eyes. YEAH. FAKE BUT SCARY.seagull wrote:Why is everyone posting fake numbers stations?
This one is real, and if anything, more terrifying than the others.
who is the sick fuck that set up the number station you posted though with the haunted ice cream truck playing haha.. and a child's voice reciting the numbers. jesus christ...
