I just don't get it, looking at that Adult Swim ad, how the hell can New Clear Dawn NOT be the album name? It just seems to go hand in hand together.

I'd like to weigh in and just say that even though there's a possibility this whole campaign may be warp-driven, the brothers must be putting some weight behind it themselves. The whole desert/number station/abandoned buildings is a page straight out of their book.

If you need any proof(or want to pass time during the excrutiating wait for the album), go back and watch Andromeda Strain, Capricorn One, or Zabriskie Point. I could swear the location in the adult swim clip is straight out of andromeda strain.

Anyways I believe boc has mentioned those films in the past as some of their favorites. Personally I think boc is driving the boat here and warp has given them total creative freedom. I'd be really amazed if new clear dawn ends up being real and planned years ago, but I almost think its more likely all this is a big nod to fans for having waited this long, and the album will have a completely different vibe than everyone's expecting.

Either way, this is all f'n amazing stuff and I can't wait to hear what they have to say about it. Oh and hearing a double lp would be nice too.

checked the observer briefly, but not really sure what i would be looking for. i'm guessing they would go for a popular magazine like NME or something if they were doing print.

Does anyone think there might be a DVD release involved? This footage looks too nice to only have 1min25secs of it.

that would be lovely! i would settle for just various films and footage to be shown on their website mind. for quite sometime we've known about BOC filming home movies on super 8's...the clip shown on adult swim was exactly how i envisioned them to be. although a short clip, there is such a sense of attention to detail, and a much deeper understanding that merely an old gas station...the decay, nature, buildings, past, present, light, day, paths, memories...i could go on and on...

I wonder when that footage was shot. Someone on WATMM says they think the Super-8 effect was just added in later, but it would be nice if this was actual footage from an old Hexagon Sun A/V project.

Yeah, maybe the colour bleeding was added after, not sure though. But the way a couple of shots cycle through the different lenses looks like a genuine old super8 to me. But I suppose they could've converted a modern camera to do the same. Then again, I'm no expert...

That new ad is surely beyond exciting, and I kind of feel the album cover might have that same imagery in it since it is the first official visuals related to this project.

The announcement is surely coming early next week (hopefully).

Wow, I've been busy for the last few days so my internet was on some kind of vacation, but I didn't think the plot would thicken so quickly :o

Looking forward!

With the rate that this is progressing, is anybody else getting the vibe that this is all leading to their new album dropping on May Day?

as for the technicals on the film stock. it looks legit as newer 8mm. also, you can easily tell that it was shot on an actual film camera as when they switch lenses it goes black and follows the circular lens track... also, the bit with the sun looks good for analog lens flares. (try it with your iphone and see what happens for an example (red dots)..if its all digital emulation, its stumps me. if your wondering where i get my knowledge... here are my films... https://www.youtube.com/user/aferretnamedpolo

and to all of those kind of complaining about the campaign, saying its more warp than boc, come on now. the fingerprints of boc are all over this. do you think warp would have clues pertaining to harvests, smart enough to pattern past behavior as well as they are? no. its the guys doing this. also, its not too difficult to get ducks in a row to do something like this at their level. they may be hermits to us, but they are hermits still on a legendary label that is flush with recent grizzly bear money. :D

so to the "complain neighbours" i guess you'd rather go back to april 19th, the day before the first 12" was found. a band, which you really like enough to talk about with other nerds online is up to something very special these days. keep yr lids on and eyes forward. we have a few brothers in scotland that are ready to come back to the surface and say hi again. that in its self is worth celebrating. cheers.

Re: HDEuthanasia

I've seen this mentioned only a couple times in threads over here, but the Twoism banner with the soundcloud links that showed up recently had the word "HDEuthanasia" at the bottom of the file code.

So far, nobody seems to have brought anything consistant about it, other than pointing out the reference to the Hare computer virus that showed up around 1996. What SEEMS to have been overlooked, however, is certain date information in the description of said virus:

"The virus was set to read the system date of the computer and activate on August 22 and September 22, at which time it would erase the hard disk in the computer and display the following message:
HDEuthanasia by Demon Emperor"
- found on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hare_(computer_virus)

August 22 and September 22... Would that explain why this word appears at the bottom of the file? Could this be the actual information being carried over?

So yeah, this is a speculation thread, so I am, indeed, speculating.

Your thoughts, people? Anything else, historical maybe, happened on an August 22 or September 22?
