Few minutes ago I got into my car, started the engine, Boards of Canada - In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country playing on Studio Brussels. After that the DJ mentioned recent events and the fact that fans are working hard to uncover everything.

Arguably the more appropriate choice for Stuart Maconie's show to have broadcast it compared to Zane Lowe's, I feel!

I'd imagine he's been interested in what's being going on lately too... One of his shows from earlier this year was indeed http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01q9rlr

I was wondering if / when BBC 6 Music would play it - great to have heard it on there tonight.

I hope they're taking so much time for the last number just to come up with something really challenging and funny and immediately recognizable as an authentic clue. The fifth one was awesome, hard to overtake in that sense

It seems like all of the clips have faint stuff in the background. In fact, even though the chime/call sign is (as far as I can tell) the same in all 5 clips, the stuff in the background is distinctly different in each clip.

I don't know if that means something, or if it's just supposed to contribute to the atmosphere.

I also wonder if the background audio is sampled from existing numbers stations (if one of them has faint English numbers in the background, and another has German numbers, that would make sense).

Has it been suggested to try layering all 5 recordings in that case, just to see if anything interesting happens? I'm at a real loss just like everyone else..

I'm not sure if the last code is supposed to be this hard to figure out or if they'll eventually just announce it when the time is right. I'm starting to think maybe the latter.

there was a bunch of fibonacci numbers posted one boc's facebook a while ago, i think that one of them was pretty close to 519225, the number broadcast tonight

On third one. I tried reversing it and whatnot. When you reverse it the first thing you hear except the noise is like someome is saying "chetirye" which is four in Russian. I'll try to clean it up a bit and return if I find something interesting.

This has all been very good and the possibility of BoC releasing a new album mind blowing, but I am starting to lose the will, I honestly thought this would have been done and dusted by tonight, dare I say it but its dragging a bit, and the more posts tweets I see about people just only now getting involved jumping on the band wagon is getting on my tits.
