Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. I love this whole process and really do appreciate it. Not getting impatient either at all, I just feel that having the same code 3 times kind of took away from the excitement personally. If nothing at all had happened instead of repeating the NPR, I doubt I would feel this way, just be looking forward to the next step even more. I just was a little bit let down when we got the same one 3 times, seeing as we already knew it and everything up until then had been so clever, I think if they had given us the Adult Swim one, and left out the other two, it would have been more effective. But maybe they felt as though the other 2 were not clear enough for whatever reason, as some people have suggested.

I'm inclined to agree. Even though time in BoC world is glacial to say the least, to kick something off and then drag their feet at the last minute would just be too big of a cocktease I think. I get that people are feeling impatient, but the only thing that actually feels out of step with the whole thing is the Rough Trade pop-up, which could easily be organised in about 2 days and merely acted as some sort of sure-up that we knew a video was the next source so people could be on the lookout on this Kids TV channel or whatever it was. I think it's likely that by this time next week we'll at least have everything we need to start cracking the code, if not more.
When we come home, we want it quiet and calm,
We want you to sing us a song.

I know, but it seems that this soundcloud user applied another technique to the two pieces of audio using whatever "(20k 1%)" written on the graph was referring to...Anyone know what (20k 1%) means exactly?
Nah... He just had shitty equipment. It's just a shitty version of http://bocpages.org/wiki/Record_Store_D ... ent#Hint_5

But, maybe there are two sets of codes for two albums: Yermo - dark, nuclear catastrophe theme album, and Cosecha - lighter, harvest and rebirth theme album. :D

There are a lot of new fans and/or perhaps old fans that haven't been following this from the beginning and aren't reading the BoCPages completely to catch up.... Therefore, a shit storm of misinformation and crazy speculation is awry. We should all just be waiting for the next solid transmission at this point. It's all in good fun though :)

I think we have to realise that not every BoC fan is obsessively refreshing this forum and following whats gone down as it has happened. Sure they have repeated a few clues now, big deal. They're getting the word out. I personally really like the suspense anyway.

Yeah, I agree, after years of total silence, I can cope with things being strung out over a few days. Excited enough to know that they're still active!

By the by - 1% is typical tolerance for resistors used in such circuits. I used to work on pro audio gear and all the stuff in the audio path was 1%.

This perfectly fits my thoughts. It would have also avoided using twice a radio broadcast, giving all clues in a cool different way.
Imagine the people who would have seen those desert images for the first time on TV, and then that sound...shivers all over their backs :o

Yeah that's all I'm saying man, it' not about the waiting, I just didn't really like the events which gave us the NPR code. I think the event at Rough Trade was unnecessary and a bit confusing, and they probably could have left out the NPR one too, seeing as the BBC was the same night also. It just that all the other clues were so good, I especially enjoyed the one here, that was very clever and a lot of fun. But I'm not impatient at all, don't mind waiting whatsoever. But I was following every tiny bit of progress that happened, and was a little let down by the NPR number events, I mean just a bit too. I'm still really looking forward to more stuff, and I do think the whole thing has been great.

IronMark wrote:Don't know if it means anything and it's probably been mentioned already but the more I listen to the csch code [717228] the clearer I can hear someone saying in German "sechs sechs sieben" - it's clear as a bell at the start and again after the BoC numbers are read out. Do we think this means anything or is it just a random sample of a German numbers station?
It seems like all of the clips have faint stuff in the background. In fact, even though the chime/call sign is (as far as I can tell) the same in all 5 clips, the stuff in the background is distinctly different in each clip.

I don't know if that means something, or if it's just supposed to contribute to the atmosphere.

I also wonder if the background audio is sampled from existing numbers stations (if one of them has faint English numbers in the background, and another has German numbers, that would make sense).
This has come up a lot. We were discussing a couple days ago that you get a lot of cross talk interference on SW radio because of it's inherent properties. So, yeah, just atmosphere I think.
