I confirm that "seeds of the dead" is 100% accurate translation (i am a russian speaker too)Calvin wrote:Can you verify the accuracy of this translation?juKajitsu wrote:What are you talking about? I can help with russian.Calvin wrote:Track 17 - "Seeds of the Dead"
1.) Google searched "Semena Mertvykh". Nothing but BoC-related results.
2.) Decided to try searching "Semena Mertvykh -boards of canada"
3.) First result contained "he states: "Khristos iz mertvykh voskres, budet to" with the title "...Romance re- and Russian voz-"
4.) FoxLingo Translation --> Russian To English (Google Translate)
5.) Semena Mertvykh --> Semena Mertvykh ??
6.) "*Did you mean Семена Мертвых*?
7.) Семена Мертвых --> Seeds of the Dead
Another thought: the use of the Russian language in track-list (Cold War...)
Tomorrow's Harvest
Moderators: Aesthetics, Drones, Hexagon Sun
I'm really eager to hear the samples they use for this album. I know these films are too obvious/well known for them to sample, but I'd love to hear some Zabriskie Point, Andromeda Strain, or Capricorn One samples used. If the album is themed around what i think it is, then Andromeda Strain would be the most likely.
Of course they'll probably use some old cold war propoganda films for their samples. Or no samples at all??!?!

why does it have to be a track from the album. its prob just a promo loop.thorpeparkguru wrote:I don't know if this has been said, but the track as the background of that video is 4:54, there are not any tracks on the album of this length, but bear in mind the silence at the end, I am thinking this track might be "Reach For The Dead" which is 4:47.
I agree, I sincerely doubt this is a track from the album. I'm not even sure they'll release a proper single prior to the album since it's only 6 weeks away.re-phaelam-ed wrote:why does it have to be a track from the album. its prob just a promo loop.thorpeparkguru wrote:I don't know if this has been said, but the track as the background of that video is 4:54, there are not any tracks on the album of this length, but bear in mind the silence at the end, I am thinking this track might be "Reach For The Dead" which is 4:47.

I'd be willing to bet it was one of the vignettes, if anything. I only watched once but I don't remember the music coming in until later in the video, but it could just start very quietly under the noise.re-phaelam-ed wrote:why does it have to be a track from the album. its prob just a promo loop.thorpeparkguru wrote:I don't know if this has been said, but the track as the background of that video is 4:54, there are not any tracks on the album of this length, but bear in mind the silence at the end, I am thinking this track might be "Reach For The Dead" which is 4:47.
Dare I say this is better than the actual cover...foxymrcroup wrote:Howdy, Twoism
loooooong time lurker finally stung into action. Just wanted to give virtual high-fives to you all. I've been reading these forums for years and years now, through endless speculation threads, divergent trains of thought and all those calls for MDG to crop up and please, please, just say *something*
So now it's happened - we've got the new release coming, and how many (if any) of you dared think it would be so exciting, so brilliantly teased? Who imagined you would all have such a big part in it? For a band who doesn't interact with their fanbase, they sure seemed to have the measure of us.![]()
So, yeah. Thanks to the mods, the contributors, the members with the bright ideas, the speculators, the dreamers and those who are nifty with their google-fu. It's been a pleasure to watch. (well... mostly)
as an aside - last week when this was all just gearing up, in a fit of excitement, I went and made an image that seemed suitably BoC-ish and posted it around my online profiles, being all giddy about it. I was quite surprised when the 'Tomorrow's Harvest' artwork was revealed at the end of the video yesterday.
Ah good stuff, but it's not really the picture I'm talking about.gestell wrote:This is what it reminds me of. Watch 01:40 - 02:05GH wrote:Ditto. It's really annoying me.rainier wrote:It reminds me of something but I can't put my finger on it.
Not sure if it's a movie poster, or a book cover.

I'm talking about the colours, and the font, and the whole layout.
Absolutely. BoC interviews are rarer then hen's teeth, and an insight into the last few years would be fascinating. They've raised kids, moved around the world and lived their lives. I often wonder if there was ever a time during all of this that they thought 'let's give up BoC and get on with real life'. Whatever those last few years brought them, I'm so ridiculously pleased they came back to us.Jinjur wrote:I am actually really, REALLY hoping they do an interview or two in the run up to the actual release...you know...
I'd love to hear their opinions on the hype, their input into it, what they have been at etc etc

I'll see you when the sun sets east, don't forget me.

Threads is without doubt one of the best (and bleakest) things I've ever watched. Anyone who hasn't seen it should check it out.GeometricPish wrote:Threads' stand-out star has to be Anne Sellors thoughMexicola wrote:YES!!! (starred my namesake too)IanRedpoint wrote:Threads

Just discovered also that:
According to the films end credits, Carl Sagan was one of the consultants used during production.

Given the insane number of vignettes they've reportedly done, I'm sure they did this specifically for the teaser and that it's not on the album. I mean it's BoC, and they've had quite a bit of time to work on this, so really thinking and hoping it's exclusive to the teaser.Opothecary wrote:I'd be willing to bet it was one of the vignettes, if anything.
