lofi as a genre

Or maybe I should call it lofi electronics? Does it exist in the first place? And if it exist, can you give me artist/band names who create this genre of music?

I like lofi electronic music from ultra unknown bands, so I'm curious to know if there's more "exposed" artists in that genre.

I wouldn't qualify "lofi" as a genre. It's merely a production methodology (similar to "indie", or "electronic") that usually results in a certain type of sound, but it's still much too broad especially if used on its own. It does work sometimes as a pre- or post-fix to a recognizable genre name, for an example lofi rock (which I feel is a bit ambiguous still).

Anyway, if you can zoom in on what you're more precisely looking for, I'm happy to help.

Do you mean stuff like .tape. or Yuichiro Fujimoto?
If you like industrial, as in Throbbing Gristle industrial, Diseño Corbusier (before someone gave them a sequencer, although that still was pretty good) and especially early Esplendor Geométrico are pretty lo-fi (later EG is even better but it's better recorded...)
There is also plenty of lo-fi-ish industrial ambient stuff, pretty well known...
