This is really promising. The Quietus are good guys, too. Usually some sound judgements.

After reading this, I am particularly interested in Sick Times and Palace Posy. Also, intriuged by comments on the last track... kinda get the impression there might be an 'in-joke' on this being alluded to here?

iPod just broke tho... so need to get some new listening apparatus asap before this drops! >_<

The forecast on Palace Posy looks good to very good. Based on name alone, I'm most looking forward to this track...

At this point, trying to stick to a purist regimen of not reading/ not hearing anything until June release seems like a futile effort. It's part of the boc watmm/twoism culture and experience.

It's been 8 years since a full length, enjoy it.

Kind of harsh. I liked being able to get an idea of the album as it made me more excited. But ultimately, a music writer can't hear the same stuff that we hear. I think reviews and opinion pieces, if not uselessly negative and petty, can be like talking to a friend or an acquaintance at the record store. It gives us a wider perspective on the music's impact and an insight on how people process such weird and wonderful sounds.

I'd like to know how how these reviews are considered spoilers. All they say is whether they have beats or are drones etc etc. how can a few words relay the reality of it when it hits your eardrums.

However it does make it sound very promising hehe

I skimmed through the article because i know its not like this dude is going to accurately capture what he heard. Stuff like a vocal sample or when things got drone like etc. anyway, it sounds good. Jacquard Causeway sounds like its gonna be nuts. Also Sick Times = the dopest beat?

Obviously reviews like this don't convey the reality of a track when it hits your eardrums. But if it tells me that a particular track is beatless, and I didn't know that track was going to be beatless until I read the review, then it is a spoiler in the sense that I am now expecting a beatless track rather than discovering this myself upon first listen. It isn't exactly "spoiling" the song in any way, it is just giving away information that some people would rather discover first hand.

I have not read it, and I do not want to read it. Actually, I have not listened to all of my BoC songs even though I have bought the albums, as I want to get surprised and get happy discovering new songs. I always listen to the same songs, but when something special (very good or very bad) occurs in my life, I go and randomnly pick up a new song ( BoC song I have never heard before). Only one. Then I add that song to my list of BoC songs I am allowed to listen to. Every BoC song is like a very beautiful present for me.

And, as you can imagine, I am not going to listen to the whole TH even though I have bought the record.

This sounds like an ever growing, organic Boards of Canada reference point to match your own growth. That's very new, but interesting to think about.

It is true that sarcasm is sometimes hard to get on forums, but I thought it was obvious to think that I was kidding, that is why I wrote that. It was not my intention to confuse anybody.

Also, the songs I love more are the songs I try to listen to less often, as I do not want to get bored of them or know them perfectly, because that would make them predictable. I really love The Beach at Redpoint and I have not listened to it more than five-six times. It is probably silly to act like this, but it works for me.

I have to admit that Jonathan Swift is amazing!

Wow! You really have a strict system set up for how you listen to your stuff. I could never do that, although I do step away from certain music for awhile and then revisit it later on. Lately though I've been trying to be stricter about listening to whole albums with the idea it's one whole piece of work that's meant to be heard together. That's something I haven't done in awhile in the age of cds and digital albums.

Also can't wait for that will.I.am track. He's pretty dope. I wonder if he guests on slide whistle.
