Yesssss.

Really want to hear Sick Times and Nothing Is Real; I like how the reviews of the album so far kinda imply they have somewhat evolved their sound while staying the same and how the focus is more on the macabre beauty of fallen ash, say, than the immediate horror. The album honestly appears to be just what I was hoping for. Nice.

Finally broke down and read this. Sounds like there's a little something for everyone here except for maybe the crowd that only like TCH (I love tch actually, but you know what I mean).

Does anyone get the feeling that between Cosecha Signal One, the TH transmission, RTFD and the Detroit clip that we're about to experience the type of BOC album that until now we've barely dared dream about?

i'm already dreading the pitchfork review.........i don't give 3 shits about their opinion, and i will never forgive them after the Trans Canada Highway review (for those who haven't read it: "these songs are really good, but it's too short 6/10)

why do people even need to review music... just don't

There's a hell of a lot of stupid sentences in that review and I think "conjures an image of Hemmingway walking through the streets of Paris – if Hemmingway were a robot and Paris a blender." is a contender for one of the stupidest sentences of all time. Ever.

It doesnt sound that pretentious, more like someone that had the wrong expectations and is dissapointed.
"I had spent the day revisiting my favorite ’Boards tracks and was very excited to see what their latest involved."
The more interesting one : "I enjoyed the album as a sort of theatre piece, but they eluded the nostalgia and fun I cherish them for."

So she was expection a continuation of the moods and melodies of the old records,
it would be interesting to know what her favorite songs are.

Well, now we know: its not geogaddi again. Bad? no. We already have geogaddi.

Yes it seems that Pitchfork hates or at least goes "meh" to most things generally accepted as great pieces of music, and flip flops. For instance, they gave Daft Punk's Discovery a 6.4, while giving RAM a fucking 8.8. I mean RAM was good, but it wasn't that good.

it's 2013, people still read/care about Pitchfork's opinion? I have to admit RAM is a pretty good album, maybe not for EDM enthusiasts, but I will agree with them and say it's good, it doesn't excuse their abortion of a Discovery review though.

The problem with music reviews (and especially Pitchfork, where bias is almost encouraged) is that it's just one guy/girl's opinion who might have tastes that run completely counter to yours.

Pitchfork caters to the worst kind of music fan. I also have a problem with sticking a numerical value on albums, surely a good subjective opinion/description of the album will work so much better?

Annoyingly, the album’s last track, ‘Semena Mertvykh’, is basically just three minutes of silence. There may have been a subtle hum, or that may have just been the air conditioner. It’s a total wank of a move, but was possibly intended as some kind of concluding meditation.
