My personal favorite out of the tracks.

Has a nice swirly analog synth and strangely placed drums.

The funkiest song out of the three and my favorite so far.

I just want to hear a couple tracks and then I'm putting them away until I can hear the Vinyl quality. I just needed to hear for curiosity sake. If anything, it confirmed for me that I am very much going to enjoy this record.

I thought it was a very nice comeback of their Old Tunes / Random 35 track tape sound.

The quality didn't help it much, wait until you hear the higher quality version.

Honestly, now that you ask, I can say that the drumbeat makes me feel a little off my axis drop and mixes well with these gnarly colourful synths that move around in a very geogaddi kind of way.

The drums aren't intricate but are quite weird, I think maybe because of how spread out they are. It's kind of trippy.

Thats what i was hoping for. maybe more along the lines of Basefree though. hope it sounds goood

Man, you are not having a good time. Negativity in every one of these threads. Just wait until it's released. I'm not saying that you'll like it, I'm just saying that hearing it fragmented is inevitably going to seem strange. If everyone only heard "The Devil is in the Details" they would have figured that Geogaddi was a bum album. However, in context, it's an incredible song.

And I love Devil in the Details, I've just noticed that a lot of people apparently dislike it as a single song.

I'm digging the song but I can't help but feel i've heard this style of beat before a la J-Dilla and Flying Lotus. Correct me if i'm wrong but are they not kinda stealing or at least re-working the stutter step? next we'll be expecting to hear side-chain compression on the pads?

I realize this is a bit blasphemous but I can't help but think it.

Wait for the actual track comes out, the quality can really effect the experience.

I'm happy I listened to the tracks. I'm even more pumped to hear this album, it's going to be a great one I think.

I can see how this could possibly be considered a waltz. Although waltzes usually involve an irregular time signature (triple-meter 3/4) and the "hesitation" you are thinking of is more involving the dance and not the music. this is modern day stutter-step and yes j-dilla didnt invent it, but neither did boards. Its not a style they have used recently at all and i dont see why they would all of a sudden incorporate it when its already been done heavily more than a decade ago.
