Also 4 is a great number of full albums, a perfect square of boc...

On the other hand an Ep would be a cool idea for new material. Maybe when their like 70 they'll give us everything else.
4?
What about 6 for a hexagon instead, seems more fitting. But then I guess when you count twoism and boc maxima this does make #6. Either way, i guess its over :(
Yeah, I'm sure the brothers will base their careers upon the shape that can be made by the number of albums they release

I think TH is the start of much more to come. A new chapter starts now.
lol just a theory my friend. makes sense to me.

Regardless, the Cosmos theme.
I think that track is quite "touchable" by boc

I just meant the whole blade runner sountrack. I'm a bigger boc fan than I am a vangelis fan, but I think that sountrack is perfect.

Anyone got any intel on their contract with Warp? Becuase my answer, for now, is whatever that contract says. :)

If it was released on its own without a film I wonder if it would feel as monumental...

Yeah, they're inextricably linked for me. I would only be theorizing if I could say whether or not it would have the same impact for me on it's own. I was just mostly thinking about the idea of replacing the soundtrack with BoC instead. I just feel like why mess with perfection?

I don't think can argue about whether one of them is objectively better than the other though, we'd just go around in circles forever. I listen to BoC a lot more than Vangelis, but I'm sure there are plenty of people who think Vangelis mops the floor with them. They're both insanely talented so it doesn't raise my hackles at all even though I disagree.

It would be fun though, can you imagine sitting in a theater watching a film with boc doing the soundtrack? It would have to be a very particular type of film, director, and actors as not to taint anything.

Oh I'd fucking love a great film with a boc soundtrack and I've actually daydreamed about it before. I love OSTs and the whole multimedia aspect of it.

I think they'll probably end up making 70 albums in all ...

I mean ... sixtyten? The Smallest Weird Number (which is 70)?

Come on guys, open your eyes.

Yes that sounds about right. It also explains why the album this year 2+0+1+3=6. It was actually supposed to come out a few years ago but they were like "nah dawg*, wait for the year of the hex"

*they call each other dawg in my imagination

I've looked into it and the two just don't vibe up. I think it might be better suited for Blade Runner actually.

This is what I mean:

thats awesome!,the sound fits the flying spinner so well!
dunno why but i imagine boc doing a soundtrack for a film such as the hitcher or first blood if they were making music in that era, apart from the obvious sci fi,future themed films,or trippy stuff

I hope so. I think most people are expecting this to be their last because of the whole 7 year wait, but none of us know why they took the time off, having kids seems like a likely reason,I doubt they'll do any interviews or give us an explanation for this, I reckon they've become much more personal people, not to mention they don't exactly need additional publicity for this album.
Anyway, I doubt BoC would sync their music up to a film or whatever, it doesn't seem like their style. If there is any aesthetic to be had from their music, it is very clear in the promotional videos and packaging of the album. They always have their Aesthetics down to a T.

Why do we have to think about what is going to happen next, or the reasons, connections, etc, of the album? We should probably think that we finally got the album, enjoy it, and that is all. Later, in two years, we can start thinking about the next steps, or being paranoics, but so far, we should just say: Hey, we have the new LP in a few days!

You can only guess and speculation's fine by me but some of this stuff goes beyond what is useful.

My assumption on contracts is that BoC are exclusive to Warp but are not bound by that contract to deliver. None of the recent activity leads me to think BoC are going to leave it at this album. There's just no evidence at all for that.
The micro activity of the previous years seems to be carefully pitched to keep us die-hards ticking over and ready to 'help' with the marketing. If they do decide to stop I'm firmly in the camp that think they will issue a statement.
It just seems to me that BoC release stuff when they think it's worth releasing and set their own targets. Last night I was thought up this aphorism (adage, probably not original): Don't tell the world what you're doing or going to do. Tell them what you've done. By which I mean, just do something and then talk about that. BoC have done an album so now they're telling us. When they hadn't done it yet or were doing it there was no information.

Oh, and Bladerunner's the absolute best. This OST was the first CD I ever bought, and only then because there was no vinyl available. I've got the second pressing of the recent vinyl issue on order (slept on the first). And a BoC soundtrack collaboration make perfect sense to me.

How can this be their last album? Isn't this their career? I mean do they work a second job while making music?
