Well I guess to each their own. You actually just gave me more confidence in the album by stating that you thought TCH was under-appreciated...now I know it likely sounds nothing like that.GeogEddie wrote:No, but I did listen to the leak that guy put up on Youtube. I'd much prefer to see them go out on a high note. TH is a solid album but it ranks below every single other release they've done as far as I'm concerned.
From the material I've heard so far I have a hard time believing this won't be at the very least better than The Campfire Headphase.

It's always just seemed to me like this music isn't the kind you play live. Most of it is comprised of samples that are arranged and so pretty much the live aspect would come down to them playing a few hardware samplers/synths and maybe a flute or two.StarblazerUK wrote:They haven't gigged their previous releases, I doubt that this will be any different. Gutted as I am, maybe they just ain't comfortable playing live? Who knows, all speculation.
I would love to get the chance to see them after the few missed opportunities many moons ago.....time will tell.

Kindly ignore Debbie downer over there, it's obvious he has a bunch of sand in that vagina of his. He hasn't posted a positive thing yet so either he's trying to be a troll which I doubt because he's not very good at it or he's one of these people who is so miserable with their own life that in order to get some semblance of joy they try and squeeze it out of those around them.
As for BoC playing live I think it's very possible, a tour however not so much. It would be something though if they played a special one off gig, pulling stuff from all over their catalog maybe even unheard/unreleased stuff and recorded the show for a blu-ray/cd release. A live retrospective if you will.

Well now, there's no reason to be rude here. It's just an opinion.thinkdontpray wrote:Kindly ignore Debbie downer over there, it's obvious he has a bunch of sand in that vagina of his. I can safely say TH has almost nothing in common with TCH. I think it's a shame that they've backed off from acoustic guitars so much. The people comparing TH to Vangelis and John Carpenter are pretty much right on the money. Old-school synth from the 70's and 80's is the obvious influence.Rodheh wrote:Well I guess to each their own. I never had a problem with the guitars, however I did think they overdid them a little bit. It would be nice if in the future they use everything they've used before but in good moderation.GeogEddie wrote:I can safely say TH has almost nothing in common with TCH. Twoism: where calling an album solid but not worshiping it as the greatest piece of music ever recorded in the history of human civilization means you are a downer with a sandy vagina. This place is almost unreal. You'd need to visit a Tool or Radiohead forum to find this level of hero worship and blind fanboyism.thinkdontpray wrote:Kindly ignore Debbie downer over there, it's obvious he has a bunch of sand in that vagina of his. Thats no different to any other electronic music though, Orbital just push buttons at the end of the day. I know it's more ambient but even stars of the lid tour and play live.Rodheh wrote:It's always just seemed to me like this music isn't the kind you play live. What Amon Tobin has been doing live recently raises the bar tbh, I just struggle to understand why they wouldn't want to sit in a box pushing buttons, looking a bit like but with different music and visuals. What fan wouldn't want to see that?

SOTL are an incredible live band. strings, full-wall projections. their december gig was one of the most amazing things i've ever seen.Monkeyesq wrote: even stars of the lid tour and play live.
But yeah, aside from visuals I don't see a whole lot BoC could do with a live set. I'd still go in a heartbeat, if only for the chance of unheard material as someone said earlier, but the majority of electronic stuff I've seen live has felt a bit flat (except FlyLo, which was mindblowing).

oh my god man enough already. negative negative negative negative negative negative negative negative negative negative. constantly. who signs up on a message board just to troll? album isnt even out yet officially either. its ok that you dont like it, its all subjective, but why taint the minds of the others in the community who havent heard it? why make them already predisposed and inclined to not like it? so silly. knock it off.GeogEddie wrote:That is the very definition of being a downer. No, that's not what this forum is like at all normally and that either a new member or non-regular unfortunately acting immature. Most of the time we do not have this sort of behavior.GeogEddie wrote:Twoism: where calling an album solid but not worshiping it as the greatest piece of music ever recorded in the history of human civilization means you are a downer with a sandy vagina. Well yeah I mean there are differences, a lot of artists DJ/scratch, work a variety of different electronics, some sing, and for a good amount of them there's an art that goes into stringing together and combining songs from their discography. I've heard Boards live, they just really play their songs straight and past running the keys and the samplers a lot is barely comprised of live elements. I can't see them doing a lot more than what it is they do already. I'm not saying I wouldn't like to see them live, I just mean that might be one of the reasons they don't perform live.Monkeyesq wrote:Thats no different to any other electronic music thoughRodheh wrote:It's always just seemed to me like this music isn't the kind you play live.
