As for BoC playing live I think it's very possible, a tour however not so much. It would be something though if they played a special one off gig, pulling stuff from all over their catalog maybe even unheard/unreleased stuff and recorded the show for a blu-ray/cd release. A live retrospective if you will.

He stated his opinion. Someone told him he had "sand in his vagina". If I were in his position I would have likely been much less polite in response, the comment about fanboyism is nothing compared to things I've said and seen before. He doesn't have to go anywhere.

Two of my life's goals (concerning music) was to someday see BoC and Portishead live. I never thought it would ever happen. But then after years and years, Portishead came to my hometown of Asbury Park NJ in 2011 on the ATP Tour. Such a great experience. Ever since that day I've known that anything is possible. So I'm crossing my fingers for BoC to make a round or two. Who knows, I could get lucky twice.

Yes- opinions are just that, but everyone of his has been along the lines of "nothing special", "you're all dumb for thinking anything different" and "really, you all think this is great??". I don't recall seeing any genuine respect for those that may feel differently, AND this is all based on shitty recordings of an album yet to be properly heard- let alone, heard repeatedly. I too have the impression that all of his posts are a "fuck you" to everyone. I'm not saying banish the guy, opinions are great and we all have open minds here, but everything from this one seems to shit on the experience and new album- with no positive, or understanding undertones- so I can't deem the negative responses as inappropriate or completely uncalled for.

Yes- we are not forced to like everything, but show some respect for the forum in return here and there at least.

Oh- I did not mean to use the word shitty re: the recordings- as Paul, Tonx and Creativeowl did and an AWESOME job with their videos (and it's so MUCH appreciated!)- please forgive me for the poor general adjective!! Just meant we haven't heard the audio properly yet.

Did he say "you're all dumb for thinking that" in a previous thread or something? Because if that's the case then that's totally different. Otherwise if not, he doesn't need to nor is he obliged to be positive.

If he did then at any rate nobody needs to stoop to his level.

TBH and in all fairness, I don't recall exactly, just know this one has given off such vibes in pretty much all his posts. Yr right there is no obligation to be positive. But nothing has seemed supportive of the forum. It has all come off rather un-twoism.

Anyway- too much time spent on this.

So- new album out soon and MAYBE something live down the road?

Alright, well then it seems fine to me to express criticism of his stance but to make a statement as has been made in this thread is just unwarranted, unless he did actually say "you are dumb" for someone having an opposite opinion in which case I at least understand.

I think they may do a select show here or there in the U.K. at some point, but I highly doubt that they will ever do a multiple dates tour.

I wouldn't give him that much credit really or power over people's opinions. He may very well be saying just what he feels and not trolling. Either way this whole "I haven't heard the album but....." thing is quite amusing.

Ages ago on SLSK i knew someone that was good friends with the owners of Schematic Records, they also recorded under Phoenecia and released on Warp in the late 90's. He told me that BoC signed a five album deal with Warp, if you count the Twoism reissue then TH is the latest of the that contract. Of course don't ever take that as gospel.

If so, then that only means no more releases on Warp. I just find it hard to imagine that the brothers have nothing left in them.
