"This private listening takes place in the framework of a collaboration between the label and IRCAM, which should be extended by a concert in November, which the artist is kept private (visible to the release schedule, if n ' Aphex is not, it's either Autechre or BOC themselves)"

Um...BoC live in November? or is that translation well off?

Yeah I feel there will be. Seems like it would be odd for US fans to be given a listening party and not the UK, just hope I can make it wherever it is if it happens.

Somewhere fairly secluded would make sense, but iirc one of the Geogaddi listening parties was held at the Union Chapel in London. That would be an amazing place to hear it but I can't imagine it being in the same place. Only night currently free in Union Chapel's calendar is June 3.

I'm so excited for this release, but I can't help feeling I have read too much and heard too much of the album beforehand. I wish I'd heard nothing so that I could just approach the album afresh come release day.

I'm actually the opposite. Those shoddy recordings have only made me more hungry, it is the ultimate tease. I want to hear the album in it's loseless glory. Goddamn, Nothing is Real sounds amazing.

No that's pretty spot on that translation.

"This private listening takes place in the framework of a collaboration between the label and IRCAM which should be extended by a concert in November, [of] which the artist is kept secret
(looking at the release schedule, if it's not Aphex, it's either Autechre or BoC themselves)."

"Devrait" literally means "should" and it can be translated to mean anything between "definitely" and "probably" depending on context... The mention of Aphex there is kinda surprising, as the only artist in the list who hasn't released this year. I wonder if they've let slip something there?

I see what you mean. Hearing that stuff has also made me anticipate the album even more, but I think there's nothing like listening to an amazing album for the first time without hearing anything beforehand.

PS. cool profile picture- another thing I'm anticipating this summer!

Yup as a French speaking native I concur, it says that there's a deal between Warp and IRCAM that goes on into November, and should include a concert by a yet un-named artist. The authors then speculate about who it could be based on the release calendar.

I hate to speculate too much, but the last ever two ATP festivals will be taking place in November.

6 sided digi means its a 2 fold case, like one extra page in the most basic type of digi. i guess im buying the cd now too.

I was listening to RFTD and I got an idea: do you think we can make some kind of gift to the brothers? A special gift coming from all of us?
I am sure TH will be a really great album but I don't like the fact that the only way I have to thank BoC is to "just" buy the album. Do you think Warp would transmit a box of chocolate to the bros if I send them one? ;)

I am def in on a gift- whether it's a hexagon shaped box of candies and flowers, or some kind of digital thing- maybe we can make some kind of thank you card-thing (themed with fitting images and what not and we can all scan our signatures and put them on it as well.) Any graphic artists with some time to lend?? Could be really cool. Maybe mdg could help get it in the right hands once finished.

We should do this.
