Website domain names

Post by jf »

Hey, just a quick observation that may or may not be linked to the current treasure hunt.

If you make a whois search on boardsofcanada.com, you get this info:

Registrant :
Hexagon Sun
PO Box 28607 EH14 7YA / Edinburgh / GB
Phone: +44.6666666666
Email: 27kcgxxynwhxi3yxd0hydy7yetpe5v@hexagonsun.com

But Domain Tools allows you to make a reverse search. And it shows that there are 7 website domains registered with this crazy email address. Domain Tools only display the first and last letter of each address (because they hope you're going to pay to get this info).

Most of them are easy to guess. But I can't find them all.

b _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ a.com = www.boardsofcanada.com
Creation date: 1999-09-09

h _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ n.com = www.hexagonsun.com
Creation date: 1999-09-09

m _ _ _ _ _ 0.com = www.music70.com
Creation date: 1999-09-09

h _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ e.com = www.hellinterface.com (thanks to OneVeryImportantThought)
Creation date: 2002-12-08

n _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ n.com = www.newcleardawn.com
Creation date: 2005-10-28

m _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ n.com = www.marcuseoin.com
Creation date: 2011-10-07

m _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ n.com = ??? NOT mikesandison.com
Creation date: 2011-10-07

Anyone knows the names of the two missing adresses?

Interesting to see that the NewClearDawn website was made shortly after Campfire Headphase was released. I was under the assumption it was created around 3 years ago.

You're right, this seems to be the missing URL.

Well, you found it. marcussandison.com. Thanks.

Remember, it's an obvious bogus email address (it's been discovered a long time ago) and BoC could have registered other domains, under a different name.

Anyways, nothing else to investigate here, I guess.

It could also be MichaelSandison.com, but I don't know if he spells his name like that at all. Just a guess.

this was pointed out above but it is interesting to note that all domains registered to this email are mirrors of http://www.boardsofcanada.com with the exception of http://www.marcussandison.com . These two websites of Marcus were registered on Oct 07 2011 a few months after the nuevas semillas video was initially posted Aug 23 2011

i still believe newcleardawn is an abandoned mission.

new seeds
tomorrow/dawn

2 years back and this album was supposed to arrive, i think it was changed around a bit and
they'll let it die come october. perhaps it was just a working title as many bands do begin with.

hope so too...i for one was turned off by how overt the occult/masonic symbolism is on the new clear dawn page. doesn't seem subtle or artistic enough for boards. we'll probably never know what the deal was though
