High Tide '77

I'm not questioning its legitimacy. I'm assuming it's not real. But, I was wondering if anyone happened to know its origin? I really like it and want to credit whoever put their time into it.

just cuz its not BOC doesn't necessarily mean its not a big tip of the hat to BOC right?

Definitely agree. Whoever did make this deserves more credit than they've been given if you ask me. I first heard this summer 2011 and the audiovisual combo was insane around that time. I may or may not be obsessing over this unidentifiable person who created it

I absolutely fucking love this. Unquestionably my favorite BoC fake.

That's the really annoying thing about these fakes - you don't get to find out who actually made them. This is lovely and deserves to stand on it's own two feet.

Anybody who uploads one of their own tracks and deliberately tags it as Boards, or anyone else for that matter, forfeits the right to any credit IMO.

Somebody on here recently said do you remember such and such a fake? Well that was me, and i thought some rude words.

So if you upload a fake, forfeit the credit forever, even if people think it's good.

This is very true. I'd say it almost goes without saying, especially if you're not a very well known artist.

Agreed with GH. I remember a BoC single which came out in 2010 (I think) and made it onto iTunes before the artists real name was revealed.. it's not a cool thing to try and use someone else's legacy to promote your own music.

Fakes are harmless as long as the creator is not using it for self promo. For a tongue in cheek troll, it's kind of funny.

Just in case y'all weren't already aware, the real identity of this track got uncovered a while back:
If The Campfire Headphase was a butterfly, would Acid Memories be the caterpillar?
Spoiler: show
Unfortunately I have no clue lmao. But while you're here, go ahead and check out some of my tunes! You might dig 'em and stuff!
