1) be very surprised.

2) be a bit disappointed.

3) write something to that effect here

4) go about my day.

Give it another go, usually records aren't as bad as everyone makes them out to be, hell even Metal Machine Music turned out to be this behemoth of influence in the coming years. That said, I very much doubt from what we've heard thus far that we have any reason to be concerned :)

This may be one of their most elaborate pieces ever (at least to me). I don't see myself being disappointed.

Sorry for getting into your head, it wasn't intentional
It's ok man, to be honest I was just upset that I had to go and create a new email for a new username, lol.

I would give great reviews and say on this forum that the music is amazing and the group is superb, so I create hype and then I can resell it for a couple hundred bucks to a yokel.

I will tear reality apart. I will burn the universe down and dance on the ashes. I will prank call BoC 10 times a day and ask them if their refridgerator is running.
All of old. Nothing else ever. Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.

hue.
Anyhow, I am pretty sure I'll love it, because what I have heard so far is reminiscent of my favourite stuff. I detect that they are maybe picking up some influence from BoC influenced acts that arose in their absence, ie OPN, Emeralds, Andy Stott, Kuedo, and transforming that back in to something even better. But, I've only heard Reach for the Dead and a few minutes of the stream (I'm waiting until I can physically hold it to listen, it's been too damn long since I have done that with a new release).
But, I'm only pretty sure.
So, in the event that it is not good,
I'll simply listen to other records of their's that I greatly enjoy.

*aha, but how would you know it sucked?*
Then again, I've met people who only pretend to have listen to TCH, but swear that they don't need to, since Bitchfork told em it sucked.
Not to insinuate that you are that person, I doubt they flock to places as specific to the band as this. They're mostly /mu/ regulars.

shrug

I didn't like Geogaddi at first and I think we all know how that turned out. Others didn't like Headphase. Same thing.

Eat a bag of Malteasers and gaze wistfully out of the window whilst contemplating the reality of living in a bubble by observing the curvature of clouds far off in the distance, only to be distracted by a sparrow peering from a bush and marvelling at the unreserved joy that self propulsive flight must surely grant were it to be a gift bestowed upon human beings.

Or not. Dunno LOL ¯\(°_o)/¯

I consider myself to be pretty open to whatever direction a new album takes if it's an artist I like. I'm not the type to jump on hype train and then if it's not up to my high expectations, jump off and bitterly protest the disgraceful quality. I know BoC well enough to know they take their time and put their full effort into their work and I can't see why this album would be any exception.

Personally I really like Reach for the Dead. I'm not even trying to make the best of a perceived 'weak' track as some people seem to be, I genuinely really like it, and I have every expectation that I'll like the rest of the album as much or more.

There isn't a Boards of Canada album that I properly adored straight off the bat from listen #1.

There isn't a Boards of Canada album I don't adore now.

That's how it works.

Agreed.

One of the best things about being a BoC fan is you dont have to worry about them creating albums that suck.

I'd probably suck on some a$$ just to confirm that it really was a valid comparison

I think he meant he would not listen to it anymore. Meaning more than once.

If the album sucks, I'll spend two weeks on Twitter spewing shit on the brothers as any REAL fan SHOULD do. I mean, how DARE they not attend our specific demands? What do they think they are to make such mistakes? HUMANS??

Anyone who doesn't do that is not a TRUE fan.

And if the album rules (as it ought to!!) I'll do the exact same thing, because I don't want all those COMMONERS listening to MY music.
