Does vinyl really change how the record sounds?
The needle that etches the first dubplate can't cut the 90° angles of a digital waveform, so it ends up rounding off all of the peaks and edges and creating a sinusoidal, analog groove, even if the original sound was entirely digital.
No, that's not how it works. All audio DACs have a reconstruction filter, after the sample and hold stage, so that the steps are smoothed out. You're misinformed if you think steps is what is output from digital playback devices.

I'll be listening to an 8 hour playlist I put together of all their studio work, including 2 hours of all killer no filler Old Tunes/35RTT and a couple choice remixes while I (try to) work before it starts. I'm ready!

Give it a shot on your phone, there's a chance it'll work. Most things are built to work on phones nowadays, anyway.

yeah I thought about that, but it gets a bit pissy streaming through the browser. if it was a Ustream or Soundcloud thing I'd be alright, but I'm guessing it's a site-native thing. blergh. I can wait a week for the wax if I have to.

That site was great for streaming, but because they never let you close the chatroom in the background it ends up slowing down your whole PC and then you need to refresh every 20 minutes. I don't know why they don't just allow you to stop the chat.

It'll 100% be ripped by the time you get home, don't worry.
Yeah, I have class from 2-8PM so I guess I can either tune in for bits of it on break, or wait until I get home and catch up to the nearest time zone. Blaaah.
The preparation for a dive is always a tense time.

Damn, that sounds tempting... Since I already pre-ordered the vinyl and cd I wouldn't feel so bad, but damn, I want to wait till the vinyl gets to my house. Decisions.
Got my PC rigged up to my 42" HDTV going through my Rega High-Fi with bad ass floor standing speakers! Sweet! Just waiting til 9pm then I'll pop open a bottle of home brew, sit back and chill to the new sounds!
